Sucker Punch Premiere London

Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish and Jamie Chung all walked the red carpet at the "Sucker Punch", held in London's Leicester Square.

Abbie wore a delicate print gown by Alberta Ferreti - I love the design but that's the only thing. The colour of the dress is what's bringing down its appeal.

Vanessa too wore Alberta Ferreti, choosing this white silk gown with an embellished neckline. It's a good concept but does nothing for Vanessa's figure.

Jamie Chung wore a bright pink Dolce & Gabbana number with a halter-neck and flouncy skirt. It clashes with the red carpet but I like how flirty and feminine it looks.

Christie's Green Auction

Spotted: My favourite fashionistas, Olivia Palermo & Diane Kruger were at the Christie's auction held in NYC.

Olivia mixed bold patterns, pairing a lacey black top with full sleeves with a pleated skirt by Rachel Roy, finishing the look with snakeskin print heels and a white clutch.

Diane wore a pouffy black Jason Wu number - it's cute and lady-like and Diane's messy side braid added a certain laid-back touch to it. She added pink satin pumps and a white clutch to complete the look.

Subtle Spring

When I think of Spring, my mind automatically gravitates towards florals, pastels and stripes. But muted colours can help you achieve a very laid-back approach towards dressing for the season.

Michelle Williams, at the premiere of her new movie, "Meek's Cutoff" donned this pale grey shift by Chanel with black cap sleeves. It's totally understated yet perfectly suitable for the season.

Katie Holmes wore a Ralph Lauren frock in a pretty blue colour at "The Kennedys" premiere - I love the shape of this dress too, it's pretty. She paired it with some strappy nude heels and kept her hair and make up simple.

Beautiful in Blue

At the first ever Comedy Awards, held in LA, Olivia Munn posed for the photographers in this gorgeous blue Marchesa gown.

The colour, the fit, the design - they're absolutely impeccable! Olivia totally shut it down with this look, I love her necklace too! (It
is reminiscant of Jessica Alba's BAFTA look though... see here).

Fashion Roundup

Carrie Underwood was at an event held for former US President George W. Bush and was aptly dressed! She looked lovely in a peachy coloured Hervé Leroux gown with her side swept hair and matching accessories.

Cheryl Cole too went the blush colour way in a silk Sass & Bide gown - it's Cheryl at her best! The hair is full of volume, make up perfectly done, the gown looks beautiful on her and I love her animal print clutch!
Miranda Kerr attended the Balenciaga & Spain Gala in San Francisco, CA. She looked absolutely radiant in a full sleeve gown by Balenciaga!

Olivia Munn, at the Humane Society's Genesis Awards wore a vintage floral strapless gown from What Goes Around Comes Around, adding an Elizabeth & James waist-cinching belt. It looks great against her tan and the floral print is so very spring.

Emmy Rossum too went for florals in the form of a sweet Dolce & Gabbana dress which she wore with a black blazer and red heels.

Vanessa Hudgens missed the mark, at the new Nylon magazine issue launch. She wore a white slip dress with a long cardigan. This all looked okay until I looked at her feet. Yikes! The sheer socks with the strappy heels look baaaad.

Whitney Port hosted an event in this assymetrical LBD, she spruced the look up with some fierce leopard print booties.

Keira Knightley exited the theatre in London, in this schoolboy-chic look. She wore separates and finished the look off with a tan saddle bag by Miu Miu and worn-in brogues.

FICCI Closing Ceremony Style

Spotted: Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha and Aishwarya Rai at the closing ceremony of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI).

Vidya stuck to her trademark Sabyasachi saree, going for a lime green hue. I love the colour but the blouse looked a little too busy.

Sonakshi Sinha wore a white dress from the Anita Dongre Timeless collection. It's not obvious from the photo but she had her hair up in a slick ponytail - simple yet striking.

Aishwarya Rai (spotted with Shah Rukh Khan) wore a light pink net saree (probably by Manish Malhotra). Needless to say, I'm not a fan even though her face looks beautiful as usual.

At the Opera

Spotted: Various celebrities at the Metropolitan Opera opening of the play "Le Comte Ory", sponsored by Yves Saint Laurent.

Actress Rebecca Hall stood out in a sea of black in a striking full sleeved gown by YSL in an orangey-red hue.

Former supermodel Claudia Schiffer sashayed in wearing a beautiful black gown with a high neck.

Claire Danes kept things simple in a one-shoulder black gown with a split by YSL.

While Emmy Rossum decided to go for colourful drama in an emerald green silk-chiffon gown by YSL which she paired with bright purple heels. My only pick is the loud make up, the dress and shoes are giving so much colour that the red lipstick was not necessary.

Olivia Munn went for high drama too, in a strapless velvet YSL gown which she wore with gloves - love how she's having fun with an otherwise boring concept of a black gown.

The Olsen twins stuck to their kooky style. Ashley Olsen wore a pencil sheath with a jade fur stole while Mary-Kate wore a sheer black gown, topping it with an oversize coat.

In Monochrome

Black & white never go out of style.

Emma Roberts looked splendid in a 60's inspired look at the "Sucker Punch" premiere. She broke away from the pretty dresses by donning a flower print Razan Alazzouni top, and pairing it with skinny leather pants and black Brian Atwoods.

Emmy Rossum was in in NYC, in a patterned Derek Lam frock - it's easy going and perfect for a low-key do.

Taylor Swift stepped out in London in a three-quarter sleeve white lace Topshop dress, which she wore over a black slip to give it an edge. In true Taylor fashion, she paired the dress with her favourite Ralph Lauren bag and brogues.

Premieres Galore

This past week saw three premieres! Here are some of the sartorial choices of the stars.

Colour was the key player at the "Sucker Punch" premiere in LA.

Abbie Cornish looked lovely in a cobalt blue full length gown with matching earrings, and I'm glad she has reverted back to blonde!

*Up
date - Abbie is wearing an Amanda Wakeley gown

Malin Akerman looked fierce in a signature minimalistic red silk gown, enhanced by a light belt.

Vanessa Hudgens went a different route by choosing this printed shimmery Jenny Packham that had a cutout in the back, I like the way she has done her hair here.

Katie Holmes went for an androgynous look in Stella McCartney at the premiere of "The Decision"; the baggy jacket doesn't work. She should have gone for a more structured and fitted suit.

Anne Hathaway did the pretty thing in a white lace Dolce & Gabbana dress at the "Rio" premiere in Brazil. It's a super feminine look and works perfectly for the hot Brazilian weather. It's just refreshing to see her in a mini, after all those elaborate red carpet gowns.

Kate's Premiere

Spotted: Evan Rachel Wood & Kate Winslet at the NYC premiere of their new 5-part mini series for HBO called "Mildred Pierce". Keeping in theme of the series, both opted for dark colours.

Evan Rachel Wood looked beautiful in a plum Elie Saab dress with full sleeves - I like both the colour and the cut but she should have worn plain black peeptoes with this dress rather than the strappy ones; the straps on heels make her look stumpy instead of tall.

Kate Winslet chose Stella McCartney's fitted LBD with a sheer, polka dot sleeve. It works well on her but I wish she'd let her hair down instead of this stiff-looking do.

In Traditional Attire

Avantika Khan (spotted with husband Imran Khan), Sonam Kapoor and model turned TV host Padma Lakshmi all chose traditional Indian clothes for their respective outings.

At a wedding, Avantika wore a white salwar kameez that had some coloured prints, she left the dupatta (scarf-like thing) out and wore nude peeptoes to finish the look. It's a nice and simple look but feels a little too simple for a wedding... having said that, I'd take this look any day over a horrendous Manish Malhotra type outfit.

Sonam Kapoor was also at the wedding, wearing a sunny yellow saree. I love the bright, cheery colours and the simple gold accessories but not loving the crushed feel of the fabric.

Padma Lakshmi was seen at an NYC event wearing a sheer green saree by Indian designer, Sabyasachi. I'm not a fan of the green tinge to the saree, but the blue and pink go well together.

Of Full Skirted Frocks

Full skirted, 60's style dresses work a treat on most women. They're modest, yet very pretty however, look best when worn with high heels as usually the length of the dresses is kind of long.

Monday saw three actresses wear these dresses -
"Bones" actress Emily Deschanel wore a one-shoulder number with Mary-Jane heels. This dress would have looked tons better had it been well-fitted (it's a little messy around her waist).

"Sex and the City"'s Kristin Davis wore this gorgeous fuschia Oscar de la Renta frock at the Humane Society's Genesis Awards and looked simply wonderful! Her alter-ego, Charlotte would definitely approve.

Kate Winslet wore something a little out-of-character, by opting for a black & white rosette-adorned Max Chaoul frock - I think she looks lovely but I prefer Kate in simple, classic silhouettes.

Fashion Roundup

I'm really liking Kim K's casual/semi-casual style of late. She knows what looks good on her and her looks are always so well co-ordinated in terms of accessories! She wore this black & white ensemble while dining out in LA. The waist-cinching belt matches her clutch & nude Louboutins! Everything lies in the detail.

Kristen Bell talked at the Alzheimer's Association benefit event wearing a bedazzled sheath by Sea with rosey metallic Brian Atwoods. It's perhaps a little too glitzy for a charity event but there's no denying that she looks great.

Nicky Hilton was at a brand's do wearing a very Nicole Richie-esque ensemble! The kimono top, long gold necklace, high heels... no complains though. Nicky's make up is fresh and clean and that makes this look work.

Alexa Chung, at a
GQ magazine event looked pretty great in burgundy jeans, a polka-dot top, a long blazer and the Chanel quilted purse.

At the John Varvatos Stuart House event in LA, Jayma Mays looked cute in a day look. She paired a white v-neck, sleeveless tank with a tan calf-length skirt. The straw bag is a nice relaxed touch and the black bow matches perfectly with her black flats!

Zoe Saldana too attended the event in a casual jeans look. The leather jacket is soft-looking and those leopard print heels add some pizzazz.

Jessica Alba went all edgy at an event in head-to-toe Proenza Schouler. It's all crazy but it's Proenza!

Malin Akerman was at a Rag & Bone opening wearing a white dress by the brand with edgy heels - it's minimal yet edgy.

Sharp Looks

Sharp, tailored pieces always win my vote. Clean lines and silhouettes always look great although there's always a trick to doing these looks right - there has to be a balance of sharp and soft (via loose, flowy hair, necklaces etc.)

Glee
girls Jenna Ushkowitz and Naya Rivera both went for androgynous looks at an event. Jenna's look felt a little trying-too-hard. I think that the jeans let her look down, as did the wrinkled shirt.

Naya Rivera looked great in her figure-hugging outfit (top by Alice + Olivia), those turquoise peeptoes add a pop of colour too.

At an MTV do, Tyra Banks wore a black jumpsuit with a colourful belt, and purple pumps. It's a nice, playful look and Tyra looks pretty good.

At a show in Lakme Fashion Week, newbie actress Sarah Jane Dias wore a white tank, tucked into some tailored silk grey pants and added a chunky turqouise necklace. The straight hair, the skinny belt and those black sandals complete the look.

Selena's Stylish Week

Disney star Selena Gomez has been making numerous fashionable rounds around NYC. I really like the way she manages to look elegant and trendy without making it look age-inappropriate. Selena's mastered the balance between grown up and youthful and the result? She ends up looking pretty much perfect!

She wore an embellished grey silk tank with a textured Tibi skirt while heading out for dinner in the city and showed up on The Late Show with David Letterman wearing a Pucci mini with full sleeves. I like the combination of leather and lace and even though the print on the bottom half is a little busy, she makes it work by keeping the hair an
d accessories simple.

At a Disney event, she wore a scarlet Dolce & Gabbana dress with a cinched waist and added some cute velvet Brian Atwood pumps (note the red ribbon near the heel!). Love it!

Then at an MTV do, she wore a graphic bustier with tailored black separates. The pointy black heels work in this instance and I'm glad she put her hair up, looks nicer that way.

Gossip Girls Update

Spotted: Michelle Trachtenberg and Kelly Rutherford at the School of American Ballet Winter Ball held in NYC.

Michelle looked lovely in a pale lilac Marchesa gown with an intricate gold design and accessorising with a Judith Lieber clutch. The hair, the jewelery, the make up... the entire look is so very elegant.

Kelly wore her signature one-shoulder gown in a slate grey colour. The shoulder embellishment is quite prominent so maybe the necklace could have been given a miss. But overall, she looks pretty great.

In House of Masaba

At Lakme Fashion Week (Mumbai), a host of celebrities came out in support of upcoming designer, Masaba Gupta.

This is Masaba's second year at fashion week and her collections always feature lots of bright colours, rich fabrics, and wearable silhouettes. She has managed to garner quite a following in Bollywood since her label, House of Masaba was launched an
d not without reason.

Young and aspiring actress, Soniya Mehra wore a hand-print black and white dress from Masaba's previous collection. She looked cute in it but she should've picked one bold accessory - the headband or the long black necklace. Together, it's a bit of an overload.

Mugdha Godse wore a neon pink, tulip shaped dress by the designer and added silver accessories to the ensemble, it's fine except those shoes aren't the prettiest and look a little too matchy-matchy.

Actress Monica Dogra went for a boho-esque look in a black cami, worn with a patterned long green skirt. It's a nice, laid back look but maybe she could've done something with her hair as it looks a little bedraggled.

Mandira Bedi wore a saree from the label, it's a good look but that giant black handbag's so unecessary! A simple black clutch would have looked better.

Sri Lankan actress Jacqueline Fernandez wore a salwar kameez with bright sunny colours - it's a lovely look as the white balances the brightness of those colour blocks perfectly.

Go International

Olivia Munn, Chloe Sevigny and Liv Tyler were at the launch of Target's Go International Designer Collective Launch in NYC. The overall theme was slightly casual yet trendy.

Olivia Munn wore a polka dot, peter-pan collar dress and it's cute but I'm not crazy about those grey tights, worn with her YSL pumps.

Chloe Sevigny wore an animal-print number with a bow collar, and added a black blazer and suspender tights to the look. I think that without the tights (plain opaque ones would have been a better choice) and the severe, slicked back hair, this look could have worked.

Liv Tyler looked great in a maroon dress, topped with a leather jacket. I like those chunky boots too.

Fashion Roundup

Camilla Alves & Matthew McConaughey, seen at the premiere of his new flick, "The Lincoln Lawyer" - Camilla wore a simple black Camilla & Marc gown and Matthew opted for a grey Dolce & Gabbana suit. The suit's a little too shiny for my liking but at least he broke away from black! And anyone notice how beautiful they look together?

Rashida Jones was also at a screening of her new movie, "Monogamy". Jones wore a printed yellow and black Thakoon sheath, pairing it with black tights and booties. It's a tad too busy but it's the fringe that I have the real issue with.

Mila Kunis attended the Cosmopolitan Awards, in NYC wearing this all white Bocanegra suit, love the way she balanced the sharpness by wearing her hair loose and flowy.

Emma Stone took in the Louis Vuitton Fall 2011 show in Paris wearing a wrap dress - it's too 80's for my liking and those suede boots are not helping.

Aishwarya Rai was at a charity event wearing a pale Abu Jaani & Sandeep Khosla salwar kameez with Aldo sandals - she looks absolutely lovely and suitably restrained for the event.

Jennifer Aniston was in Mexico City for the launch of her perfume. She wore a one-shoulder nude Valentino Haute Couture dress with strappy sandals. The dress showcases her toned body and that golden tan perfectly!

Nicole Richie attended the Givenchy show in Paris wearing this leather sheath with snakeskin print Louboutins. It's a very fierce look for her but she just about pulls it off... if only she'd gone easy on the fake tan.

Emmy Rossum was at an event wearing this beautiful amber coloured Amanda Wakely dress, it had me at the colour! But she accessorised it well too, with those statement earrings and gold heels.

At the NAACP Image Awards, Kerry Washington wore a simple yet feminine Zac Posen gown, the colour and cut look very fresh on her.

Halle Berry wore a Pucci gown with cutouts. Only she could rock a dress like this without looking tacky!

Fashion Week Faces

A special dinner was held in Paris for Michael Kors at the American Embassy. Attendees included Jennifer Hudson and Zoe Saldana.

Jennifer showed off her hourglass figure in a dark blue gown by the designer - beautiful!

Zoe Saldana wore a a white blouse with some sparkly pants and added some Louboutins to the ensemble... it's not exactly appropriate for a dinner at an embassy, more a disco type of outfit.

Also in Paris, Jennfier Lawrence and Mila Kunis took in the Miu Miu show, wearing... Miu Miu. Jennifer's dress had potential, but something went wrong with the fitting.

Mila Kunis did it, underwhelmed me that is. This black dress is so boring!

Fashion week has just began in Mumbai, India and fashionista sisters Sonam & Rhea Kapoor were spotted front row at the Anamika Khanna show.

Sonam went for a very androgynous outfit with slicked back hair and all, but added a feminine touch via the red lippy, it's a fierce look for sure an
d I love the necklace.

Younger sister Rhea too went for structure in a maroon fitted jacket worn over a black skirt.

Chanel L♥ve

Emma Roberts, Florence Welch, Alexa Chung and Lily Allen all attended the Chanel Fall 2011 show in Paris and looked appropriately chic while checking the out the collection.

Emma Roberts looked splendid in a powder blue, feathery concoction from the label, she added some edge with those platinum Brian Atwoods.

Florence Welch went for an almost boho look in her floral ensemble, it's so very her.

Alexa Chung wore her trademark cutesy frock with some black tights and pointy flats (not loving).

Lily Allen channeled Audrey Hepburn and looked elegant in a dark green tweed coat. She brightened the look with a chainstrap red Chanel purse and finished the look off with a bouffant and cool sunnies.

Pretty Premieres

Spotted: Sarah Jessica Parker and Amanda Seyfried (at separate events).

SJP was seen at the opening of a Broadway play, she wore a sparkly black Halston Heritage dress (she's the creative director for the label) and worked it! I love the all black look on her - the dress is just sparkly enough, without being covered in any actual sparkles or pailletes.

Amanda Seyfried looked fabulous on the red carpet for the premiere of her new movie, "Red Riding Hood". Dressed in Lanvin from head to toe, Amanda owned the look! I love the rich purple of the dress and the nude shoes are a touch different from the usual ones we see. The chunky Tom Binns necklace is a nice touch too.
