Ferregamo Fans

Spotted: Various fashionable faces at the showing of the Salvatore Ferregamo Resort Collection 2011, and all looked so very chic!

Ashley Greene's white dress was perfect for the season, but the enhanced shoulders make her look broader than she is.

Freida Pinto's printed silk top, paired with a crisp white skirt was perfect office-wear, the brown wedge sandals added a more relaxed touch to it.

Emma Roberts' velvet dress bothers me, but she just about carries it off, thanks to the hair, shoes and purely that fact that it's Emma.

Eva Mendes looked effortlessly stylish, nothing different here.

Final Stop: New York

Rosie Huntington Whiteley made her final premiere stop in NYC yesterday, in a luminescent Antonio Berardi gown, sure it's a bit repetitive but she looks gorgeous!

Summer Glow

Spotted: Orange!

This bright, cheery colour was very popular in the last two days.

Penelope Cruz looked fabulous in Madrid, wearing a Roksanda Ilicinic one-shoulder dress. I like how she went so light with her make-up, it lends a freshness to her look.

Beyonce was seen in London, at Harrods, in a peplum dress in a lighter shade while actress Taraji P. Henson wore a Herve Leroux dress.

Hi Berlin, Hi London

Rosie Huntington Whiteley continues her run of amazing gowns!

At the Berlin premiere of "Transformers: Dark of the Moon", she went for a floor-sweeping shimmery, silver Naeem Khan gown that she wore with a thin belt and side-swept hair.

In London, she went for a navy coloured Burberry gown that she wore with a very minimalistic approach.

IIFA Awards 2011

The annual iifa awards took place in Toronto, Canada during the weekend and I have to say, the clothes didn't disappoint (overly), no disasters, at the very least.

Sonakshi Sinha wore an Alexander McQueen sheath, which has been seen on Kim Kardashian before; it's a good choice for her but I'm not loving those ankle-strap wedges - too casual.

She went for shimmer next, in a wrap dress - again, looks great on her but the hairstyle is too severe and the flower makes her look like a flamenco dancer almost.

Neha Dhupia nailed it on both nights; the polka-dot print shouldn't really work on the green carpet but this Lanvin dress looks so very elegant!

She later wore a chain-detail, cream-coloured Catherine Malandrino dress that she wore with the right hair and make up.

Dia Mirza had a pattern - maxi-style dresses with floral prints and a soft hair-do which is fine but I wish she'd had some fun with her fashion!

The Blumarine dress worked well on her but the second Matthew Williamson didn't really wow me.

Priyanka Chopra stuck to Manish Malhotra - the velvet is horrendous but at least the white overpowers it.

Shilpa Shetty also went with a shimmery black gown, hers a Dolce & Gabbana - but the gaudy necklace and shoes are a turn off.

Anuskha Sharma looked absolutely lovely in a Sabyasachi saree, flawless.

Fashion Roundup

Diane Kruger knocked it out of the park once more this week, in this scarlet Yves Saint Laurent gown that featured a risky neckline and a bold colour, but Diane managed to stand her own just fine.

Eva Mendes too looked spectacular at a Thierry Mugler event (she's the face of the perfume, "Angel"). Eva naturally opted for a Mugler dress, and this white gown is so understated yet perfectly glamorous!

Sienna Miller and Kirsten Dunst both attended pre-Wimbledon parties in London and both stuck to white.

Sienna wore a lacy white Ralph Lauren shift with a high neck; however, those black boots killed the look for me - why wear them with such a pretty dress and when it's the summer?

Kirsten Dunst looked very lady-like and season-appropriate in a floral, below the knee dress that she paired with her gold heels and added red lipstick.

Cameron Diaz continued showing off her pins in a Chanel mini, in NYC. She's taken it too far though, the dress would have looked more classy had the hemline been more modest.

Anna Paquin too wore an LBD, the Versus mini is perfect for the "True Blood" star's style.

Liv Tyler looked gorgeous this week in her cobalt blue Stella McCartney sheath - the colour, the fit and the hair and make up are spot on.

Kate Bosworth went with a bold colour this week too, in her neon pink Richard Nicoll frock that she wore with nude Chloé heels. I wish she'd done something with the hair though, it looks messy and scraggly.

The Transformers Tour

British model turned actress, Rosie Huntington Whiteley has been on a promotional tour for her upcoming movie, the latest in the "Transformers" franchise.

She has been using her modelling credentials to the the max in elegant gowns that are elegant and make her look statuesque.

Her first choice was a belted black Michael Kors number; I think this dress looks more like a swimming cover-up, rather than a dress.

In Moscow, she chose Michael Kors once more, this time bringing it in a hot pink, asymmetrical dress with a slit and wearing nude heels.

For the red carpet, she chose a two-tone, sheer chiffon Gucci dress - this dress is going in two directions (floral, feminine with the bodice and sheer, risque in the bottom part) and looks a little hotch-potch.

Designer Sightings

Spotted: Celebrities wearing collection pieces by Rachel Zoe & Victoria Beckham. Hollywood stylist Rachel Zoe has recently launched her own collection, which Instyle celebrated with a special dinner.

Cat Deeley looked wonderful, wearing a tuxedo-inspired white dress from the collection, adding neutral/tan accents via the shoes and clutch. White is really working for her these days, what with the glowing tan.

Rachel herself, looked glamorous in a layered, gold gown.

Kate Winslet and Olivia Palermo both went with Victoria Beckham at their respective events. Kate looked sleek and stylish, in the figure-hugging black dress with an embellished waist.

Olivia wore a vivid, mango coloured dress, which Victoria Beckham herself wore last year. Olivia made the look her own though, with the equally bright petal clutch and animal-print heels

Critics' Choice Television Awards

Spotted: Courteney Cox, Busy Philipps and Cat Deeley, at Monday night's Critics' Choice Television Awards.

"Cougar Town" co-stars, Courteney Cox and Busy Philipps both looked great.

Courteney wore a snakesin-print, belted Lanvin dress with black strappy heels; it's a no-fuss, yet stylish look from the actress.

Busy Philipps wore watercolour print, blue dress - I like the flared bottom, it adds a certain feminine touch to the dress.

British television host, Cat Deeley wore an ivory Dolce & Gabbana shift, with T-Bar heels from Zara; she looks gorgeous!

Much Music Awards

The Much Music Awards took place in Toronto, Canada last night with a fair few stars attending, including Canadian actress Nina Dobrev, Twilight actress Nikki Reed and Selena Gomez (Justin Beiber was also present).

Nina has been sporting Georges Chakra a lot lately, and she went with the designer on the red carpet here; I think the dress is overwhelming on her and the hairstyle isn't too pretty. This aqua dress from the Georges Chakra Spring 2011 collection would have looked lovely on her, with a sleek hairstyle.

Selena Gomez wore a ruffled, Burberry mini, a variation of which was seen on Rachel Bilson earlier this year - the purple peeptoes didn't particularly work here, but the I like that she ditched the hair extensions.

Nikki Reed wore a strapless dress by Ronald Abdala which wasn't bad but wasn't anything to write home about either; her face looks gorgeous though!

Stylish Teacher

Cameron Diaz has been on a whirlwind international promotional tour for her upcoming movie called "Bad Teacher" and her outfits have been super stylish - she wore this ensemble for the movie's Madrid photocall.

In Russia, for the photocall, she wore some pale skinny jeans with a cream Chanel jacket and candy pink suede Casadeis (note the red lipstick too) - I like how she combined red and pink again but the Chanel jacket seems a size small on her!

On the red carpet, she wore a zingy, black and gold Pucci mini with plain black satin pumps.

In Berlin, in the day she wore a cool, ice-blue shirt-dress, cinched in at the waist with a chunky neutral belt; I like how she matched the belt with the Sergio Rossi heels (which I absolutely love). It's a breezy, laid-back look from her.

At the premiere later, Cameron picked a black, tuxedo-inspired jumpsuit which made her legs look miles long! I like how tied her hair back, thus showing the collar of the jumpsuit.

Fashion Roundup

Megan Fox, at the Maui Film Festival in Hawaii wore a leaopard print dress by Isabel Marant with white Brian Atwood pumps; the coral coloured necklace is uneccesary but she looked pretty good.

Katie Holmes continued her MaxMara obssession, in this monochromatic, floral number that she wore with pointy, suede heels and a gold necklace - it's a sleek and sophisticated look from her.

Emma Watson went for a completely girly look this week, in her emblelished, tulle dress by Temperely London. Although, I wish she'd gone for a different shoe as those Casadei pumps are clunky.

Taylor Swift stuck to her style, in a busy, floral print Dolce & Gabbana dress which she wore with tan heels and red lips.

Diane Kruger wowed in her Alessandra Rich dress that had lace applique - the unusual florescent colour and the orange belt really add to this look! To finish off, she wore nude sandals and had her hair in soft waves.

Gwyneth Paltrow returned to her stylish form this week in a draped Alexander Wang dress - it worked well on her lithe frame and her hair looked good!

Trend Watch: Wide Legged Bottoms

Wide legged trousers, suits and jumpsuits have been very popular this year, from MaxMara (Spring 2011) to Michael Kors (Fall 2011) and more, the trend has been everywhere on runways.

Katie Holmes and Ashley Greene sported this trend at a MaxMara dinner.

Katie went for a double-breasted suit, and while I'm not entirely sure about the fit of the trousers, she does carry this suit off well and her hair and make up are spot on.

Ashley Greene wore a wide legged jumpsuit and added layered pearl necklaces; I think that a bright colour would have been more fun, and a sleek ponytail would have worked better.

Rosie Huntington Whiteley was seen going into a studio in NYC wearing a suit by Michael Kors with a halter neck blouse - she looked statuesque and managed to work that backless top.

Green Lantern Premiere

Blake Lively was back on the red carpet, at the premiere of "The Green Lantern" in LA. She went for a white, couture gown by Chanel that had a sheer panel.

While I like the hair, I'm simply not loving this dress on Blake - it makes her hips look wider than they are and overall, it's a pretty boring and
repeated look from her; I was hoping she'd wear something sleek and striking.

amfAR Gala NYC

Jennifer Hudson showed off her curves (and a tiny waist!) in an elegant all white Michael Kors dress, which she wore with simple platform heels.

Heidi Klum too opted for Michael Kors, wearing a cerulean shaded, draped jersey dress with a halter neck and slit; the colour is refreshing, but I'm not loving the unflattering ruching in the front.

Olivia Palermo wore a bubble-hem , polka-dot dress (Bensoni?) with an asymmetrical hem, adding a silk jacket and powder pink clutch to the ensemble; it's a pretty look.

Pick Your Patterns

Blake Lively was seen in NYC twice, pairing a floral dress/skirt with animal-print heels - I'm not against this combination, but Blake missed the mark on both occassions somehow.

At the Ghetto Film School Spring Benefit, she wore a floral top and layered skirt from Marc by Marc Jacobs; it's simply too gaudy, for lack of better word and while those Louboutin heels are nice on their own, they don't go with the outfit.

When appearing on "Regis & Kelly", she wore a sky-blue Tibi frock with some leopard print platforms - again, the combination seems off and her make up is too loud.

On another note, I wish Blake would take a break from wearing shorts/short dresses all the time, would it kill her to mix it up and wear some trousers once in a while?

Trend Watch: Boxy Style

Clean, and straight shaped clothes have been appearing all over the runways over Spring - bright, boxy silhouettes worn with neutral accessories. This trend has also been taken into next year by Stella McCartney who showed her Spring 2012 collection in NYC yesterday.

Liv Tyler and Naomi Watts came out to support McCartney, wearing pieces from the collection.
Liv, in a colour-block shift, worn with nude platforms and Naomi in boxy, red shorts worn with a scalloped, lace blouse which she topped with a blazer.

Cameron Diaz was seen on Monday in an Elizabeth and James short-suit in white, which she wore with a red belt and added a pink blazer to the ensemble - I love the combination of red, white and pink and her heels (Sergio Rossis) are gorgeous!

Chrysalis Butterfly Ball

Spotted: Olivia Wilde, Jennifer Garner and Ashley Greene in LA.

Olivia wore a dress by designer Yigal Azrouël with sheer sleeves, and an eyelet print throughout the length of the dress. The print isn't the prettiest and the look is too busy, neck up though, she looks great.

Jennifer Garner played safe in a strapless, silk LBD by Prada, adding a metallic box clutch and Casadei peeptoes.

Ashley Greene's coral coloured cocktail dress scored major points in the colour department, and she accessorised with stacked bangles, a metallic minaudiere and Brian Atwood peeptoes.

Queen Bee

Sonam Kapoor was seen over the weekend wearing a quirky and cute dress by newbie designer, Sabah Khan that reminded me of the colouring of a bee!

She elevated the fun factor via the hairstyle, accessories and shoes.

Too Peachy

Spotted: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at a Longines event, a watch brand that she endorses.

Elie Saab
was the label of choice for her and while I like the colour, neither the dress nor the jacket are working. A fitted dress would have looked better, with the floaty, embellished jacket on top. The hat is too matchy-matchy and those ankle-strap heels make her legs look stumpy.

Fashion Roundup

Kirsten Dunst went back to looking cute in a blue, ditsy floral print summer dress (Louis Vuitton), worn with gold peeptoe sandals at the label's event in NYC. It's perfect for a summery evening out and Kirsten looked good.

Malin Akerman attended a Tommy Hilfiger do in LA in a low cut white jersey dress with tan accessories in the form of the thin belt and lace heels. I think that the dress would have looked better had it had a more modest neckline.

Emma Watson looked great once more in a chartreuse coloured Marchesa dress, at the MTV Awards after-party. She added bright lipstick and translucent pumps to complete the look.

Emma Roberts too looked lovely in green, in a kelly green shade. She went for colour blocking, pairing the Amanda Uprichard mini with royal blue suede heels.

"Sex and the City" stars, Kristin Davis & Sarah Jessica Parker both wore nude/blush shades this week.

Kristin went for a soft blush pink Paul Ka satin frock, finishing the look off with matching heels.

SJP went for a more simpler look in her vintage inspired L'Wren Scott dress which she wore with lots of eyeliner, a simple hairstyle and open-toe Louboutins.

Nicole Kidman invited disaster when she stepped out at the CMT Music Awards in a velvet Proenza Schouler dress, adding to the travesty with those caged Pierre Hardy heels. The hairstyle, dress, shoes, nothing work.

Charlize Theron was seen at a Christian Dior party (for the launch of a watch, for which she is spokesperson), dressed in clothes from the label. She wore a feathered white dress with a black blazer - it's a stylish look but the blazer isn't very weather appropriate.

Of Beautiful Dresses

I know this post seems a little random but I just had to write about and the Duchess of Cambridge, Jessica Alba, and Gisele Bundchen and their looks at their respective events. Their dresses were absolutely beautiful!

The Duchess stole the show (seen here along with her husband, Prince William) in a shimmery, rose-coloured Jenny Packham dress. The perfectly blow-dried hair, the smile, all very immaculate as always!

Jessica Alba attended an event in California in a summer white Dolce & Gabbana dress, which she accessorised with a gold clutch, a diamond bracelet and drop earrings; not sure why she wore hair extensions though.

Gisele worked the red carpet in a dazzling Oscar de la Renta gown, the pink belt at the waist adds the signature sweet Oscar de la Renta touch to this dress. She let the dress do the talking by keeping everything else simple.

When in London

Spotted: Leighton Meester & Kim Kardashian at their respective fragrance launches in London.

Leighton absolutely glowed in a sheer, sleeve-less mauve blouse worn with leather pants, all by Vera Wang (whose fragrance she is the face of) with matching chunky heels.
The soft coloured blouse, wavy hair and neutral make up are the perfect balance to the leather.

Kim went for colour-blocking in a two tone silk Gucci dress from the S/S 2011 collection. The dress is not appropriate for Kim's body type and the cutout is very unattractive too.

Glamour Awards 2011

Rosie Huntintdon Whiteley, Kristen Stewart and Kim Kardashian all made the guest list at this year's Glamour Awards, held in London.

Rosie went softer with her look, compare
d to the MTV Awards night, in a blush silk Stella McCartney dress with a leg slit, some pointy nude Louboutins and an embellished silver clutch.

Kristen too tone
d down her look, albeit still sticking to Balmain, in a pale, printed strapless mini which she wore with Guiseppe Zannoti peeptoes. The hair and make up while boring, was perfect nonetheless.

Kim Kardashian wore a signature, fitted gown - this time by Dolce & Gabbana. She changed up the hair though, in a low bun and wore some eye-catching earrings by Lorraine Schwartz, with matching stacked bangles.

Hope Benefit

Spotted: Demi Moore & Jennifer Lopez at a charity gala.

Demi looked pretty great in a v-neck Louis Vuitton dress, which had feathers on it yes, but I don't mind it so much. The skirt is a little awkward though, maybe a fitted, pencil silhouette would have looked better.

Jennifer Lopez brought colour in her Temperely London dress. The raspberry colour is lovely but I'm not a fan of tight satin, it is never forgiving.

CFDA Fashion Awards 2011

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Fashion Awards took place in NYC last night, with Prabal Gurung receiving the Best New Designer of the year recognition.

Naturally, the celebs went with American designers for the event and most of them seemed to prefer short cocktail dresses instead of full-length gowns which is more appropriate seeing the warm weather.

Kerry Washington & Naomi Watts both wore Calvin Klein.

Kerry wore a white shift dress with a textured bottom while Naomi went with a lamé gold dress (which needed some sort of belt in my opinion). Keeping with the aesthetics of the label, both kept their looks very minimal.

Alessandra Ambrosio wore a vermillion gown by Prabal Gurung, with matching lips and a bold statement neck cuff. It's a bold look for sure but I think she could have passed on the red lips in this instance.

Model Chanel Iman wore a billowy aqua creation, with gold sandals. I think the dress swamps her slim figure and the hair is a little too messy, not the perfect bed head.

Liv Tyler chose a colourful, belted Proenza Schouler number but the shoes and purse ruined the look.

Chloe Sevigny wore a leather top and lacey white skirt from her own line, Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony but again, those chunky heels let down her look (not that it was brilliant to begin with, mind you).

Both Miranda Kerr & Ashley Greene donned Michael Kors dresses for the night.

Miranda wore a cutout black, leg-baring gown, with gold cuffs on both wrists; she looked statuesque like always.

While Ashley Greene went with a neon pink
and black mini, but those strappy heels make her feet look unecessarily chunky.

A radiant Jessica Alba wore a two-tone maxi dress by Diane von Furstenberg with gold hoop earrings. I think the slicked back hair style is a little severe but other than that, this look is spot on from the pregnant actress.

Lucy Liu's feathery Monique Lhuillier gown was my least favourite ensemble of the night; it felt uninspired, dated and out of place. And surely she must be boiling under all that material!

After a run with frothy Chanel creations on the red carpet, Kirsten Dunst wore a tux by designer Patrick Ervell with hoop earrings and red lips. I think Kirsten just about pulls it off.

The Olsen twins turned up in their usual attire of mix and match separates.

Mary-Kate wore a skirt by her own label, The Row and topped it with a metallic Chanel jacket. She carried a bag from her new line.

Ashley went with a pale blue dress from The Row and finished the look off with satin yellow Manholo Blahniks and an apricot coloured purse, similar to sister Mary-Kate's.
