Maggie Gyllenhaal In Alexander McQueen

Spotted: Maggie Gyllenhaal, at the Rome Film Festival, for the premiere of 'Hysteria'.

Maggie wore a white, jersey Alexander McQueen gown with a flower themed halter neck.

I'm not too fond of jersey on the red carpet so immediately I'm not a fan, but the dress isn't flattering for her bust and seems too casual.

Gold hoop earrings, a simple bun and red lips completed her look.

If she'd worn her hair down and donned some jewelled flats, she wouldn't look out of place at a summer party.

Nikki Reed In Maria Lucia Hohan

The 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1' premiere took place at the Rome Film Festival and Nikki Reed was in attendance along with Jackson Rathbone.

Nikki is wearing a Maria Lucia Hohan gown.

The actress looked radiant in the white gown with a plunge neck, an open back and a short train;  and I love the hairstyle but wish she'd worn some jewellery or red lipstick to make a statement.

Nikki Reed's 'Breaking Dawn Part 1' Tour

Nikki Reed also joined the 'Breaking Dawn Part 1' promotion tour, along with co-star, Jackson Rathbone in Rome.

At a photocall, she wore an Alice by Temperley mini with exaggerated shoulders and an embellished neckline.

Then, at a later event, Nikki traded in black for a fuschia pink Jenni Kayne dress with a lapel front.

Nikki wore Camilla Skovgaard black ankle boots with both dresses; I'm not loving them with the Jenni Kayne dress though.

Fashion Roundup

Salma Hayek was busy promoting her movie 'Puss In Boots' all over the place last week.

At the LA premiere, she chose a one-shoulder, textured frock by Bottega Veneta;  I love the shades of colours here as they match really well with Salma's chocolate brown locks!  A gilded clutch and black slingbacks completed her look.

An animal-print Alexander McQueen (Resort 2012) frock with a full skirt was her choice of dress for an NYC screening - I think she looks fab, her curvy figure is accentuated but it doesn't look tacky.  Tousled hair, a bright lip colour and caramel coloured pumps were the finishing touches.

Anne Hathaway wore a baby-blue printed Erdem sheath at the Hollywood Film Awards last week ; it's fresh and feminine.  But you know my complain right? The boring black peeptoes!  Her hair could've looked cuter if it had been put up in a bun too.

Julianne Hough, also an attendee at the event, picked a plunge neck Naeem Khan dress (Spring 2012) with a gold rose design.  As good as she looks, there's something very cheesy about her on the red carpet - maybe the DWTS image is still there...

Amber Heard wore a beautiful, aqua coloured, Roksanda Ilincic dress at the Hollywood Film Awards. The dress had me at the colour.

At the London premiere of 'The Rum Diary', Amber took a colour break and went for an all black Jean Paul Gaultier gown with a bejewelled waist, adding interest via the fuschia lipstick.

Nikki Reed joined the promotion bandwagon for 'Breaking Dawn Part 1'.  The newly-wed actress donned a bright shift, wearing it with interesting suede shoes or 'shooties' (shoe-booties)... get it?

Rebecca Hall walked the red carpet at the London Film Festival in a Marios Schwab frock - I love the sport-chic feel of it and those heels are fab (if not too matchy-matchy, but who needs boring ol' black pumps anyway?).

Eva Longoria gave two sleek looks with neutral heels this past week:

First, in a midnight blue Victoria Beckham (Fall 2010) dress with a draped neck and black belt.

For a TV appearance, Eva opted for a padded shouldered white Antonio Berardi sheath with an interesting neck.

Thandie Newton was one of my favourites this week, in a metallic Giles (Spring 2012) dress with a printed bodice and red belt - she paired the dress with aqua Nicholas Kirkwoods which was unexpected and refreshing!

Jennifer Lopez also surprised me by wearing a girly silhouette in the form of this sky blue Lisa Ho dress, which she wore with a tight top knot and nude peeptoes.
I wish she'd gone for a softer hairstyle though, the top knot adds a harshness to her face.

American actress/producer, Leelee Sobieski was at the Fashion Group International’s 28th annual Night of Star event, wearing a Jill Sander Fall 2012 outfit.  I would've seen this one on Tilda Swinton but Leelee carries it off pretty well, with a sleek bun and pink lipstick.

Olivia Wilde looked smashing, at a Glamour event, wearing a panelled J Mendel Resort 2012 dress.  Bright pink pumps and gold earrings added interest to her look.

At the TeenNick Halo Awards, Victoria Justice wore a pink Tadashi Shoji number with Giuseppe Zannoti ankle-strap heels.  I find this dress sickly sweet and hate the colour, even the hair and make-up are falling flat.

Emerging actress (and one-to-watch-out-on-the-red-carpet star) Felicity Jones wore a rose-gold ChloĆ© dress at an LA do, with rich purple heels.  A messy fishtail braid and smoky eyes completed her fabulous look.

Lauren Conrad also had two distinct looks this week:

I like the 20's hairstyle she's sporting with the palette adorned BCBG Max Azria mini - retro eyes and pink lips added interest to her look but I wish she'd chosen a different clutch, the oversize one feels out of place.

Her second look consisted of a simple fall print dress which she wore with simple hair and neutral pumps; I would have gone for some rich hued pumps though.

Chanel Intimate Dinner

Christina Hendricks, Kate Bosworth, Elle Fanning and Hailee Steinfeld were all seen at a Chanel dinner, held in LA last night.

Kate Bosworth - Lovin' the all-black look on her, consisting of a button-up blouse, a tweed mini skirt and fierce black booties.

Christina Hendricks -  I love the wine coloured dress and the black cape, but my problem is with the shoes!  Not pretty.

Elle Fanning wore a black & white ensemble; I like the white shorts but those black pumps are unnecessary and feel inappropriate for the teenager.

Hailee Steinfeld wore a high-neck, grey coloured mini with tough-looking booties - again a case of inappropriate - too much make up.

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Dries Van Noten

Also spotted at the Rome Film Festival was Maggie Gyllenhaal, promoting her upcoming movie 'Hysteria'.

Maggie chose a Spring 2012 dress by Dries Van Noten.  The label is often seen on Maggie, as she's a fan of all things quirky.

But this ocean print t-shirt dress, which she wore with a simple bun and red lips looked too casual for the event, as did those brown wedges (lovely on there own) - she should have chosen something a little more formal.

Abigail Breslin In Nanette Lepore

Young actress, Abigail Breslin attended the NYC screening of the movie, 'Janie Jones', wearing a Spring 2012 Nanette Lepore ensemble.

The neon-yellow blazer & pleated skirt are just not made for the red carpet and camera flashes.  I also thing that the silhouette is too grown-up for Abigail.

She accessorised with a ponytail, bright lip and dark patterned Louboutins.

Jessica Biel In Giambattista Valli

Spotted: Ms Jessica Biel, at the Fashion Group International’s Night of Stars event held in NYC.

Jessica looked fabulous in the Giambattista Valli gown.

The Fall 2011 Couture chiffon dress with a key-hole neck & puffed up sleeves and a gold leaf belt looked magnificent on the actress and she didn't let it overwhelm her.

Her make up was fresh and dewy, the hair style had a romantic feel and the earrings are lovely.

Jessica totally owned the look.

Rosie Huntington Whiteley In Burberry

RHW, who is the face of Burberry Body looked pretty darn amazing at the LA launch of the fragrance.

She wore a blush silk Burberry sheath that looks like second skin on her, with strappy heels & tousled, volumised hair.

Perfect? I'd say yes.

Penelope Cruz In Dolce & Gabbana

Spotted: Penelope Cruz at the Rome Film Festival.

The actress wore a pant suit by Dolce & Gabbana, with a white button up.

Penelope kept thing extremely simple, not bothering to make the look feminine, but I wish she'd brushed her hair!

Heidi Klum In Versace

At the TeenNick Halo Awards in LA, Heidi looked absolutely fab in a black & green Versace mini from the Fall 2011 collection.

The plunge neck dress with a green design made the supermodel look curvy & statuesque (even more statuesque than usual).

She wore it with side-swept hair, stacked bangles & black platforms.

Kate Bosworth In Burberry

Kate Bosworth attended Burberry's new fragrance launch wearing a Spring 2012 piece.

I love this printed dress and Kate rocked it with messy, tousled hair, minimalist heels & a cool clutch.

Ashley Greene in L'Wren Scott - 'Breaking Dawn Part 1' Premiere

Looks like Ashley Greene's going to be the promo girl for the 'Breaking Dawn Part 1' events this year.

At the Brussels premiere, Ashley wore a gold, plunge neck L'Wren Scott mini. She wore L'Wren Scott at the 'Eclipse' premiere too - click here.

She looks really polished and has put in a lot of attention to detail - the sleek hair, gold earrings and gold nails.

The only complain I have is concerning those nude, patent Brian Atwood pumps - she could have gone all out and worn strappy gold heels.

She was joined on the red carpet by Rob Pattinson, whose scruffy facial hair is worrying.

Sarah Jessica Parker In Antonio Berardi

Sarah Jessica Parker donned an Antonio Berardi dress at the New York City Center Reopening Gala.

The Spring 2012 looked perfect for fall!  I really like the skirt part of this dress and the way the bold shouldered top half adds edge to the look.

SJP completed her look with patterned tights, Mahnolo Blahnik heels, and Fred Leighton jewellery.

Leighton Meester in J Mendel

Spotted: A fresh faced Leighton Meester, at the Roger Vivier boutique in NYC.

Leighton wore a colourful, printed skirt & top from the  J Mendel Spring 2012 show;  I love the fresh colours and the subtle black hem on the skirt.

She wore the look with minimal make-up, matte red lips, bangles and of course some Roger Vivier heels in black.

Freida Pinto In Salvatore Ferregamo

At the promotional events for her new movie (yes, she has another one) 'Black Gold', Freida wore two dresses by Salvatore Ferregamo.

The photocall saw Freida wear a nautical themed frock, which she wore with a simple updo, and strappy heels.

She nailed the premiere look again! The hot pink, pleated gown with a gold rope-belt looked fantastic on Freida.

I love the messy do, with a gold head band & stacked bangles too.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Narciso Rodriguez - 'Tower Heist' Premiere

Spotted: SJP, at the NYC premiere of the movie 'Tower Heist'.

She wore a tri-colour Narciso Rodriguez frock that had black accents, a bow and a full skirt.

While I like the colour palette on this dress, I don't think that it suits SJP - something sleek would have been more age-appropriate.

She wore her hair up, with smoky, navy shadowed eyes and navy coloured heels.

Naomi Watts in Ralph Lauren - 'An Evening With Ralph Lauren'

Also at the Ralph Lauren event was Naomi Watts, clad in a Fall 2011 gown.

I love this slinky, silk gown with a keyhole neck & silver sleeves; I like that Naomi wore it with an elegant updo, this dress deserves it!

Silver jewels & a clutch completed her look.

Teen Vogue Fashion University: The Seminars

The Teen Vogue Fashion U was amazing. And so was New York! I loved it all so much and it really was one of the best experiences of my life. I just had a blast all weekend! Michael Kors, Chris Benz, Amy Astley, Peter Som and the Who What Wear ladies were my favorites, so I thought I’d tell you a little about those seminars.

Michael Kors:
He was very well prepared and everything he said seemed genuine and honest. He gave great advice and pressed the importance of working hard and not giving up, but at the same time he was easygoing and the seminar was entertaining and interesting from beginning to end. Everything he said was just spot on; he talked about how you couldn’t understand our love for fashion if you hadn’t been ‘bitten by the bug’ and it’s just so true. He was incredibly insightful and it was like he really understood what we were feeling because he had been in our situation once.

Chris Benz:
I laughed so much during this seminar. He and Teen Vogue editor Andrew Bevan (who was doing the interview) were close friends in real life and they were just so relaxed and spontaneous and hilarious. He talked about how he desperately needed to get out of Seattle when he was a teenager and experience the world (I can just relate so much to that), how he came to NYC and started at Parsons, and about starting his own line, etc.

Amy Astley:
All the Teen Vogue editors were great, really! They made up such an incredible team and it seemed like the perfect working environment. Editor Danielle Nussbaum covered celebrity fashion and that field seems so interesting - that may very well be my dream job - wow! Amy Astley was probably one of the most down-to-earth persons I’ve ever met, and I felt like her take on fashion was a lot like mine: we don’t judge other people by it, we don’t die for it, but it’s fascinating and intriguing and the industry is about more than just clothes. I bought her book The Teen Vogue Hand Book – An Insider’s Guide to Careers in Fashion and I read a lot of it during my very long flight back home. There is some great advice in there, I really recommend it!

Peter Som:
Peter Som was a lot funnier than I thought. He seemed natural and relaxed, and talked about things like how extremely shy he was as a child and how he hung out with all the geeks in high school. He was very honest and personal and that made the seminar interesting. And he gave a great summary of his experiences and his career (the ups and downs, and how you need to hang in there) and it was just very inspirational.

Who What Wear:
This was a seminar about Fashion in the Digital Age with the Hillary Kerr and Katherine Power (Who What Wear), Aliza Licht (DKNY), Rich Tong (Tumblr) and Susan Koger (ModCloth), but I thought that the Who What Wear ladies really stood out, or maybe it’s just because I follow their blog religiously, but I loved what they had to say. Just like the Teen Vogue panel, they seem like such an incredible team that anyone would be lucky to be a part of.

Jessica Alba & Camilla Belle - An Evening With Ralph Lauren

Spotted: Jessica Alba & Camilla Belle, at the event 'An Evening With Ralph Lauren', at the Lincoln Centre in NYC.

Both wore Ralph Lauren Fall 2011 collection pieces (one of my favourite Fall collections this year).

Jessica wore a velvet dress with an embellished bust; the look is classic and Jess wore it the right way, with chandelier diamond earrings, an elegant updo, red lips and a red clutch from the collection (and of course, red nails!).

Camilla Belle was also wearing a Ralph Lauren gown, from the Fall 2011 collection.

The figure-hugging gown with sheer shoulders, a beaded bodice & an embellished train was stunning on Camilla.

She wore her hair in a sleek side parted bun and finished off with diamond earrings, deep pink lips and diamond bracelets.

Michelle Williams in Nina Ricci - Hollywood Film Awards

Michelle Williams walked the red carpet for the Hollywood Film Awards wearing a Spring 2012 Nina Ricci gown.

The dramatic navy dress with a sweetheart neckline, embellished with gold leaves looked beautiful on Michelle.

She kept her hair & make-up simple & wore ankle-strap sandals.

Rosie Huntington Whiteley in Emilio Pucci - Hollywood Film Awards

RHW looked fabulous in her Emilio Pucci dress (Spring 2012).

I love this dress, it's very busy but I love the detailing - like the cutout in the back, the leg split and the lace on the sleeves.

Rosie wore her hair in a bun, but I have to say, I love the hairstyle that the runway model is sporting.

She finished off the look with patent, pointy Louboutins.

Carey Mulligan in Bottega Veneta - Hollywood Film Awards

Carey Mulligan was back on the red carpet after a long time.

She wore a sparkly, halter-neck Bottega Veneta frock from the Spring 2012 collection with black peeptoes & carried a studded black clutch.

Her make-up consisted of smoky eyes and a pale glossy lip colour.

I can't say this is a bad look, but she could have worn some interesting shoes instead of those peeptoes.

Emma Stone in Jonathan Saunders - Hollywood Film Awards

Emma Stone disappointed me in a very dull, ivory, Jonathan Saunders Spring 2012 dress with a drop waist & pleats.

Even the gemstone earrings aren't doing much for the look;  Emma wore pretty heavy make-up and wore Christian Dior bow topped heels.

Keira Knightley In Roksanda Ilincic - 'A Dangerous Method' Premiere

Spotted: Keira Knightley looking beautiful, at the London premiere of her movie, 'A Dangerous Method'.

She donned a two-tone Roksanda Ilincic dress (Resort 2012) which has a halter neck & cutouts in the front and back.

Keira wore the dress with black sky-high, pin-point ankle-strap heels and a super sleek side-parted bun.

I'm in love with her hair & make-up, her face looks gorgeous.

Rodeo Drive Walk Of Style Awards

Lots of celebs in Hollywood came out wearing Missoni (since the Italian label was an honoree), at the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style Awards.

- Alexis Bledel wore a multi-colour, pastel print maxi.  Alexis always looks lovely and this appearance is no exception.

- Alessandra Ambrosio was there too, wearing a turtle-neck, sleeveless, cherry-red top, pairing it with a pink & red maxi skirt. I wish she'd skipped on that turtle-neck and I also wish that the skirt was a gown.

- Sophia Vegara (of 'Modern Family') looked summer-ready in a gorgeous azure shaded, strapless Missoni gown which skimmed her curves perfectly.  She added some gorgeous earrings & a bracelet to finish off the look.

- Iman, who was also an honoree, wore a Rachel Zoe Spring 2012 dress at the event.  Love the blush coloured, high-neck dress which she topped with a snazzy Rachel Zoe jacket.

- Rachel Zoe herself, too wore a Spring 2012 ensemble from her label.  She wore two separates - a white, frilly-sleeved blouse tucked into a pleated white maxi skirt.
Accessories included gold cocktail rings, dangly earrings & a black clutch.

Ashley Greene in Givenchy - 'Breaking Dawn' Premiere

Ashley Greene was in Paris, premiering the upcoming 'Twilight' movie, 'Breaking Dawn'.

The actress wore a navy coloured Givenchy dress that had a twisted lapel front & a peplum silhouette.

It looks pretty amazing on her, and I love that she isn't wearing boring ol' black pumps! Those zip-detail Givenchy heels are perfect with this dress.

Tousled tresses, an edgy necklace, and a black clutch completed her premiere look, I think this the best premiere look she's ever had!

Marion Cotillard in Christian Dior - 'Contagion' Premiere

Spotted: Dior darling & beautiful actress Marion Cotillard, at the Parisian premiere of 'Contagion'.

Marion wore a checkered Spring 2012 look from the label, with orange heels (the model is wearing black ones).

Side-swept tresses and pink lips completed her simple, elegant look.

Lea Michele In Luca Luca

Lea Michele wore a Spring 2012 Luca Luca outfit at the Mohegan Sun's (a famous casino) 15th anniversary.

The black suit-esque ensemble, consisting of a cutout top & shorts looked great on Lea but I wish she'd worn some sexy heels instead of those chunky boots; these Alexander Wang 'Fabiana' heels (click here!) would have been perfect!

Love the sparkly earrings, and clutch.

Zoe Saldana in Antonio Berardi

Zoe Saldana wore another Spring 2012 look on the red carpet, at the Gen Art Fresh Faces of Fashion event.

It was an Antonio Berardi number for her this time.

I love the futuristic feel of this blush pink mini, with bold shoulders, cutouts and a satin panel.
Zoe wore the look with wavy hair, silver jewels, a shimmery grey box clutch and white peeptoes.

Fashion Roundup

At the premiere of 'Margin Call', Demi Moore wore a taffeta silk printed dress by Zac Posen; her hair was left straight and down and she wore Brian Atwood pumps.  The dress looked great on her.

Zoe Saldana was at a Motorola do, in a cool outfit consisting of black separates by Barbara BuiSo effortless!

Elizabeth Olsen was spotted in a layered blue ensemble (Preen Fall 2011) at a film festival.  I love her multi-print skirt & the patent grey booties but the high collared blue top, worn with the busy necklace isn't working at all.

Emma Roberts went the 60's glitzy way at a Swarovski event - the burnt orange Miu Miu minidress was paired with black tights, Miu Miu platform sandals, sparkly earrings and a messy ponytail by the actress.

Olivia Palermo attended a store opening in Italy in a mix & match outfit: a printed blue Tibi top, tucked into a floaty sheer skirt, topping it with a fur gilet & finishing off with lace-up heels.

Camilla Belle wowed in Salvatore Ferregamo at an event for the label. I love the silver flapper-inspired dress which Camilla wore with cap-toe pumps, and a matching minaudiere.

Jennifer Hudson looked fabulous in a form-fitting Elie Tahari ensemble.  The singer/actress wore the digital print top & tweed pencil skirt at a NYC dinner.

Olivia Wilde attended the LA event, honoring the CFDA Fashion Fund finalists in a paisley-print pink dress, topping it with a crimson Schumacher coat and adding contrasting electric blue heels & clutch to the look.

Katie Holmes attended a Marie Claire party, wearing a draped, navy Carven dress with black tights & Mary Janes.  She kept her hair simple (& glossy!) and wore diamond studs.  But I wish she'd worn a statement necklace with the dress, it would have taken her look to the next level!

Evan Rachel Wood disappointed once again, wearing a dull black Emilio Pucci dress & jacket to the London premiere of 'Ides of March'.  She tried adding colour via the satin pumps & red lips but I just hate the dress.

The adorable Dianna Agron was also at the CFDA do, wearing a plunge neck Libertine dress with wavy hair & pointy black pumps.  Only Dianna could wear such a low-cut dress and still look cute!

Whitney Port attended the Global Fashion Awards, in an azure coloured silk Matthew Williamson gown.  She matched the embellished details of the dress with dangly earrings & wore her hair in a top-knot.
