Best Dessed of the Year! Number 1: Emma Watson

Why Emma Watson is my BEST Dressed of the Year: Emma Watson sure went out (of the Harry Potter franchise) with a bang! She looked divine at the premieres of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 in dresses from the very best designers; my favorites being her brown Bottega Veneta gown and her grey Oscar de la Renta gown seen above! She seems to have finally found a style that's perfect for her - cute but edgy - so now that we can't worship her as Hermione anymore, at least we can worship her style!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Best Dressed of the Year! Number 2: Hailee Steinfeld

Why Hailee Steinfeld is my 2nd Best Dressed of the Year: Hailee Steinfeld is by far Hollywood's best dressed teen in my opinion! She's barely 15 years old and yet she knows exactly what to wear! Unlike many other teens, she never looks like she's trying too hard, because she doesn't over accessorize or exaggerate her looks - on the contrary, she always looks beautiful and sophisticated while keeping it fashionable, age appropriate and interesting!

Sonam Kapoor In Elie Saab - 'Players' Press

Sonam Kapoor is busy promoting her movie, 'Players'.

For an event in Delhi, the actress wore a beautiful dress from the Elie Saab Fall 2011 collection.

The scarlet hued dress had full-sleeves, a sculptural neckline & a plunging back.

Sonam wore it with a neat, side ponytail & nude pumps.

I wish she'd have more fun with her choice of footwear.

Best Dressed of the Year! Number 3: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Why Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is my 3rd Best Dressed of the Year: I have never ever seen anyone in so many gorgeous outfits while promoting a movie. Every single dress she wore during the Transformers press tour was amazing! Rosie knows how to dress sexy while still looking classy, and this is one of the most important carpet fashion qualities you can possess. I've even started to love her street style lately, so I think she looks incredible wherever she is nowadays!

Best Dressed of the Year! Number 4: Kat Graham

Why Kat Graham is my 4th Best Dressed of the Year: Kat Graham has the type of style that you either love or hate, so I'm sure a lot of you are surprised to see her this high on my list, but I think she's incredible! She's original, cool, fun and fearless, and yet she's always super stylish with her amazing 90's inspired style!!! And I love the fact that she actually makes an effort to dress in a way that makes an impression; there's something admirable about that and I wish she got more credit for it!

Chic Casual Style

A chic casual dressing style is one that takes years to master (sometimes days if you can afford a personal stylist).

These are some recent casual celebrity looks which I love.

Olivia Palermo - her first outfit was an instant hit with me.  Light, flared jeans are hard to wear right in the winter months but Olivia styled them perfectly with a burgundy peacoat, animal-print scarf & a divine Valentino handbag.

In the second one, she wears a navy coloured dress with matching boots (!), all topped off with a fur-collar coat.

Miranda Kerr managed to look chic in a colourful mohair cardigan - quite the feat.  The model wore it with a simple v-neck white tee, faded jeans & suede ankle boots.

Blake Lively was spotted strolling around Boston in Diesel jeans, tough looking boots, a moto jacket, an oversized, tribal-print scarf & a Givenchy bag.

Rosie Huntington Whiteley wore a striped sweater, with an oversized, animal-print scarf, jeans & gorgeous, embellished Chanel boots.

Kate Bosworth did some shopping in LA, wearing a rustic, orange striped top by Proenza Schouler with black jeans and edgy black ChloƩ boots.

Best Dressed of the Year! Number 5: Diane Kruger

Why Diane Kruger is my 5th Best Dressed of the Year: Diane's inability to get it wrong never ceases to surprise me! She varies her looks with help of makeup, hairstyles and innovative dresses of different colors and cuts, and whether she's going for a sexy, beautiful or cute look, she always looks equally chic! And no one wears Chanel better than her - it's like Gaga + McQueen or Sarah Jessica + Prabal Gurung; it just can't go wrong! To summarize, Diane Kruger is as close to perfect as it gets!

Photos courtesy of redcarpet-fashionawards.com

Best Dressed of the Year! Number 6: Olivia Palermo

Why Olivia Palermo is my 6th Best Dressed of the Year: I don't think I ever fully realized how amazing Palermo's style actually is. The way she mixes and matches all kinds of clothing pieces is incredible, and she always knows exactly what accessories to add. She pays such careful attention to detail and this is definitely her finest fashion quality - I am seriously baffled by the fact that she always manages to choose bags that liven up her outfits (not that there's ever anything boring about them to begin with)!

Photos courtesy of redcarpet-fashionawards.com

Best Dressed of the Year! Number 7: Sarah Jessica Parker

Why Sarah Jessica Parker is my 7th Best Dressed of the Year: She fell off my fashion radar for some time a while back, but now she seems to be back to her old chic self! The only thing that's ever bothered me about her style is her pointy shoes, but this year even those have started to grow on me, so I've been pretty mesmerized by her. And her little love affair with Prabal Gurung will never get old - they are perfect for each other!

Best Dressed of the Year! Number 8: Emma Stone

Why Emma Stone is my 8th Best Dressed of the Year: Despite being a newbie in Hollywood, Emma's got the red carpet fashion aspect completely under control. She has the courage to wear statement-making pieces and the attitude to pull off any look, so obviously this results in hit after hit. I have no complaints here - I just hope she keeps it up in 2012!

Photos courtesy of redcarpet-fashionawards.com

Best Dressed of the Year! Number 9: Alexa Chung

Why Alexa Chung is my 9th Best Dressed of the Year: She seriously needs to do something about her hair, but there's nothing wrong with her clothes; on the contrary, she's been killing it on the carpet and at events this year. I've always thought Alexa has a good fashion sense, but I was never one of those people who fell head over heels for her boyish style. She'll always have a bit of that and I don't dislike it; I just prefer her in cute and womanly outfits, so this year I've been pleasantly surprised. She still has a lot to learn about shoes, but you can't expect her to go from tomboy to full blown feminine beauty in no time.

Best Dressed of the Year! Number 10: Zoe Saldana

Why Zoe Saldana is my 10th Best Dressed of the Year: Like Freida Pinto, Zoe Saldana isn't afraid of playing with color and she always looks fabulous! She's the kind of person who'd look good in anything, so when she wears clothes that are gorgeous enough to make pretty much anyone look good, the result is just outstanding!

Photos courtesy of redcarpet-fashionawards.com

Best Dressed of the Year! Number 11: Florence Welch

Why Florence Welch is my 11th Best Dressed of the Year: Florence Welch from Florence and the Machine is without doubt one of the best dressed musicians in the world! I didn't notice her excellent fashion sense until very recently but I was immediately blown away by it. Just looking at the photos above, it's clear that she's found a particular style that's perfect for her! She takes a lot of risks, but she knows exactly where the line between fashion and insanity is!

Sonam Kapoor In Victoria Beckham - 'Players' Press

Sonam Kapoor wore yet another design by Victoria Beckham for a promotional event in Pune for her upcoming movie called 'Players'.

The tangerine coloured shift was paired with an equally eye-catching turquoise neck piece (LOVE).

Sonam wears the look well as always, this time opting for gold Fendi sandals instead of the nude peeptoes.

Best Dressed of the Year! Number 12: Lady Gaga

Why Lady Gaga is my 12th Best Dressed of the Year: Fashion-wise, this has really been Lady Gaga's year in my opinion! I've been so inspired and impressed by her over and over again lately! She hasn't exactly toned down the craziness, but like I've said before, she's learned to combine the statement-making with current trends and it's such an improvement! I also have a weakness for McQueen designs and no one wears them better than Gaga!

Photos courtesy of redcarpet-fashionawards.com, instyle.com

Best Dressed of the Year! Number 13: Kate Bosworth

Why Kate Bosworth is my 13th Best Dressed of the Year: Kate's got the effortless chic look down, whether it's on or off the carpet! She can pull off any look really: the nonchalant look, the cute look, the cool look, the couture look (I could go on forever...), but no matter what, her outfits are always perfectly put together!

Zooey Deschanel In Erin Fetherston - 'The X Factor' Finale

Zooey Deschanel attended the 'The X Factor' finale in a cute Erin Fetherston dress.

Love this drop-waist dress on Zooey, it's very her.
I think some jewelery would have been a nice touch though, no?

Best Dressed of the Year! Number 14: Anne Hathaway

Why Anne Hathaway is my 14th Best Dressed of the Year: I have never considered Anne Hathaway to be a fashion icon, but suddenly this year she's been nothing but. The outfits above really speak for themselves (five of which are from the Oscars... she was an incredibly well dressed host) - she's had so many hits on the carpet this year that I've lost count.

Ashley Greene for DKNY

Ashley Greene posed atop a double decker bus in front of her Times Square billboard ads for the DKNY Spring 2012 Jeans campaign.

This collaboration is hardly surprising, as Ashley has worn dresses by Donna Karan on the red carpet on three major occasions (click here, here & here).

She looked super stylish, in head to toe DKNY and I have to say, I'm loving her in those ads!  She looks stunning.

Best Dressed of the Year! Number 15: Blake Lively

Why Blake Lively is my 15th Best Dressed of the Year: Any other year I would have ranked her co-star Leighton Meester higher, but this year Blake has really impressed me. She used to show a little too much cleavage in my opinion, but lately she's been looking very polished and sophisticated on the carpet. And she doesn't even have a stylist, so she's free to wear whatever she wants, which is great, because she obviously knows what should be worn!

Best Dressed of the Year! Number 16: Anna Dello Russo

Why Anna Dello Russo is my 16th Best Dressed of the Year: Anna Dello Russo is just so cool! She's not one of those people who find a style they're comfortable with and stick with it for the rest of their lives. No, despite being almost 50 years old, she is new thinking, and her outfits are always interesting and up-to-date!

The Best-Dressed of 2011

2011 has gone quicker than I thought it would and it's time to draw up my second annual 'Best-dressed' list! Happy holidays to one and all! xo

 10. Australian beauty Miranda Kerr takes the tenth spot in this list.

I know she's a supermodel and has the ability to wear anything and still look fantastic, however, I'm more a fan of her street style; her casual day looks range from basic neutrals to floral maxis and she looks effortlessly chic in everything (while carrying her baby in tow sometimes).
Oh, and she's pretty stunning in formal togs too.

9. Jessica Alba gave us all a master class in maternity style this year.

Maxi dresses are a fail-safe choice for any mother-to-be but Jess made sure to keep every look interesting by way of the dress, accessories, and hair.
My personal favourites are the floral, off-shoulder Dolce & Gabbana dress & teal coloured, swallow-print Issa maxi.

8. Leighton Meester is without a doubt, the shoe queen of the red carpet.

In 2011 she wowed me in all her ensembles and from the girly Vera Wang dress to the edgy Michael Kors gown, Leighton always kept things fun and fashionable.
And you'll (almost) never catch this girl in a pair of boring black pumps.

7.  Emma Watson takes spot number 7, for her enchanting, feminine sense of style.

Not one to be seen in skin-tight or short dresses, Emma sticks to her girly silhouettes and designs.  She went for that famous pixie hairstyle earlier this year and this only added to her charm.
Personal favourites are the Oscar de la Renta gown & the Jason Wu ensemble.

6. Sarah Jessica Parker made many red carpet appearances in 2011, largely because she starred in a movie ('I Don't Know How She Does It').

Her summer wardrobe also included a lot of clothes by one of my favourite designers - Prabal Gurung and she single-handedly revived the white pump trend.
SJP may overdo the crazy accessories at times, but you can't accuse her of looking boring.

5. I honestly don't know how I forgot to put Freida Pinto in my best-dressed last year because ever since the Indian actress starred in 'Slumdog Millionaire', she has been giving us stellar looks.

This year, Freida starred in a lot of movies, which was great for us as we saw a variety of fantastic looks from her.  Personal favourites are the Ralph Lauren jumpsuit & the Antonio Berardi dress.

4. Olivia Palermo is the only true blue fashionista on this list as she's not an actress.

The NYC based socialite and designer is known for her superb accessorising skills and the ability to put together stylish outfits from quirky separates.  Her signature items include her Stuart Weitzman sandals and a fringed clutch.

 3. Diane Kruger has been the most consistent this year.

The German actress kept firm hold of her fashion icon status by wearing her favourites like Chanel and Jason Wu but also ventured out in a high-fashion, neon Alessandra Rich gown (a favourite of mine).

2. Zoe Saldana takes the second spot on this list.  It's not hard to see why as Zoe has a really fun, playful view of fashion.

She's always ahead of the pack, wearing pieces fresh off the runway and I have to say, she's one of those rare ladies in Hollywood who can carry off an ankle-strap without making her legs look stumpy.

  1. Leading the charge is Emma Stone.  This really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

The girl starred in three big movies ('Friends with Benefits', 'Crazy, Stupid, Love.' & 'The Help') and wore designs from virtually every label in the world.
I love how Emma always looks confident & comfortable in whatever she's wearing - she wears the dress, not the other way around.

Best Dressed of the Year! Number 17: Freida Pinto

Why Freida Pinto is my 17th Best Dressed of the Year: Freida tries so many different things and it always, always works! As can be seen above, none of her outfits ressemble each other one bit, and I love that. And she's so colorful - I wonder if there's even one color she hasn't worn this year. She also pays attention to detail and she knows exactly what works for her body type!

Best Dressed of the Year! Number 18: Selena Gomez

Why Selena Gomez is my 18th Best Dressed of the Year: I love how Selena can look super cute wearing a puff dress, and the next day look all grown up and sophisticated in an elegant gown. She has a versatile style and therefore I'm never bored! Her outfits keep getting better and better, and I think that when she starts to really take risks, it's gonna be amazing!

Best Dressed of the Year! Number 19: Keira Knightley

Why Keira Knightley is my 19th Best Dressed of the Year: There was a time when I really didn't think the day would come that I would put Keira Knightley on a Best Dressed of the Year list, but it seems it has arrived. She's always been the prettiest, but this year her style finally caught up with her gorgeous face! Her outfits remain classic and not too over the top, but they're always interesting and youthful. I think it can be concluded that after years of experimenting, Keira has finally found her own elegant style. Practice sure makes perfect!

Sonam Kapoor In Masaba Gupta

Sonam Kapoor wore a jacket by one her favourite designers - Masaba Gupta.

She wore the silk, hand-print jacket with cobalt blue accents with a light white blouse & black pants.

The hair is glossy, the chain-link necklace is great, as are those brogues but the make-up is too harsh for this day look.

Kate Middleton In Ralph Lauren

The Duchess of Cambridge paid a visit to a homeless shelter in London yesterday looking casually stylish in a Ralph Lauren sweater dress.

The moss coloured, turtle-neck sweater dress was cinched in at the waist with a thick black belt which defined Kate's slim figure even more.

Tights and black suede boots (a staple for her) completed her cosy, festive look.

Best Dressed of the Year! Number 20: Zoe Kravitz

Why Zoe Kravitz is my 20th Best Dressed of the Year: I fell in love with Zoe's style last year at the Oscars when she wore that beautiful Alexis Mabille gown and ever since I just haven't been able to take my eyes off her. She's one of those people who'll always have somewhat of a 'hippie' feel to them, but she's definitely learned to step out of her comfort zone and wear more sophisticated outfits. She just does her own thing and I always love it when it's a tad out of the ordinary!

Best Dressed of the Year! Number 21: Elle Fanning

Why Elle Fanning is my 21st Best Dressed of the Year: Following in her sister's footsteps, Elle Fanning has already become one of Hollywood's favorite fashionistas, and what's truly baffling is: she's 13! When I look at photos of myself at that age, I just can't believe my parents let me leave the house like that. She probably has some help, but she obviously needs to approve her outfits and they're so fashion forward! I don't think her looks are flawless, but they're incredibly inspirational and she always looks age appropriate and just adorable!

Myleene Klass In Miu Miu - Military Awards

Myleene Klass attended the Military Awards in London last night in a Miu Miu Fall 2011 dress.

This collection has been quite popular, with high-street stores emulating the swallow print dresses in particular.

This dandelion print black dress looked predictably elegant on Myleene, and she wore it with casual wavy tresses and suede pumps.

Helen Mirren In Talbot Runhof - A Heart for Children Gala

Helen Mirren wore a Talbot Runhof dress for a charity gala held in Berlin.

The rich purple dress had three-quarter sleeves and draping all over.
Love the colour but the draping is super unflattering.

She wore it with black tights & Gucci pumps.

Paula Patton In Moschino

Paula Patton dropped by the BET studio in NYC for the 106 & Park event.

She wore a golden, sequined mini from the Moschino Spring 2012 collection, topped off with a moto jacket and a black belt.

Paula left her hair down and added some fierce Giuseppe Zanotti sandals to complete her festive look.

Best Dressed of the Year! Number 22: Leighton Meester

Why Leighton Meester is my 22nd Best Dressed of the Year: I've always felt like Leighton isn't afraid to try new things and I absolutely love that about her. I do, however, think that she was even more fearless last year - she would have definitely been top 10 then, so I hope she steps it up again in 2012. She's had a lot going on in her personal life this year though, and I really admire how she always manages to look so 'together' despite all that. It's obvious that she makes an effort to dress fashionably and I love a woman who puts some time and thought into her outfits. And not to mention Blair Waldorf's style! I guess I can't exactly give Leighton credit for that, but Blair's stylish and slightly uptight wardrobe choices have been better than ever this season!

Best Dressed of the Year! Number 23: Rachel Bilson

Why Rachel Bilson is my 23rd Best Dressed of the Year: Rachel Bilson has been one of my favorite style icons for many years, and she's basically one of the reasons why I became interested in fashion in the first place. I have to admit I wish she'd take some more risks though. She always looks super chic and fashionable, but her choices feel quite 'safe', and where's the fun in that? I always love her shoes though. There are just so many people in Hollywood who don't pay enough attention to the their footwear, but in Rachel Bilson's case, the shoes really take her outfits to the next level. Basically, she knows what works for her and she sticks to it, and sure, I wouldn't mind a crazy outfit now and then, but she always looks fabulous so I can't really complain!

Rooney Mara In Rodarte for Opening Ceremony - 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' Appearance

Rooney Mara went for a Rodarte for Opening Ceremony dress, for an appearance on a TV talk show.

The off-shoulder black dress had a full skirt and a white high neck top underneath.

Love this edgy yet demure dress on Rooney, which she wore with sideswept bangs and Prada ankle-straps.

Florence Welch In Naeem Khan - VH1 Diva Celebrates Soul Concert

Florence Welch slipped into a Naeem Khan Fall 2011 gown for a stage performance at the VH1 concert.

She rocked the golden batwing gown that had silver embellishments running down the length of it.

Best Dressed of the Year! Number 24: Jaime King

Why Jaime King is my 24th Best Dressed of the Year: Jaime has been seen quite much on the carpet lately due to her role in Hart of Dixie and I've just recently realized whan an amazing style she has! She's rarely gotten it wrong this year and I can't wait to see what she wears next. I think she has enormous potential and she's definitely one to watch in 2012.

Paula Patton In Emilio Pucci - 'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol' NYC Premiere

Paula Patton exited the 'MI:4' premiere tour with a bang, in this Emilio Pucci Spring 2012 mini.

The full sleeved minidress is adorned with sequins and feathers and I like the colour combination.

Paula wore it really well but if I could change one thing, it'd be the hair - a teased, low ponytail with a centre parting would have been lovely to show off the neckline of the dress.

She's wearing Christian Louboutin 'Bambou' suede peeptoes.

Image Sources: nymag.com/fashion, zimbio.com/pictures

Katie Holmes In Holmes & Yang - 'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol' NYC Premiere

Katie Holmes stepped out to support Tom Cruise, at the NYC premiere of 'MI:4'.

She wore a navy coloured, dotted dress by her label Holmes & Yang that had sheer shoulders & sleeves and a tiered skirt.

The dress is somewhat dowdy and does Katie no favours.

I wish she'd stop wearing clothes from her line all the time, especially when they're clearly not working for her (click here).

Jennifer Morrison In Stella McCartney - 'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol' NYC Premiere

Jennifer Morrison wore a Stella McCartney sheath to the NYC premiere of 'MI:4'.

The black & navy dress is underwhelming and I wasn't too crazy about her choice of accessories.

The ornate, amber earrings look out of place as this dress has minimalistic aura;  the clutch & plain black YSL pumps also felt dated.

No one wears Stella McCartney sheaths quite like Kate Winslet (click here & here).

Sonam Kapoor In Elie Saab - Marie Claire Fashion Awards

Sonam Kapoor attended the Marie Claire Fashion Awards in Mumbai, wearing an Elie Saab Spring 2011 gown.

The off-white, chiffon halter-neck gown also had cap sleeves and a plunging neckline.

Sonam looked statuesque in the floor-skimming dress, and added a braided updo, and Celine cuffs to finish off her look.

Sonam Kapoor In Victoria Beckham - UTV Stars Photoshoot

It was a Victoria Beckham dress for Sonam Kapoor for a photoshoot.

The figure-hugging sunny yellow dress had a boat-neck and white accents.

Sonam wore it with side-swept waves, diamond studs, a slight smokey-eye & nude Jimmy Choo peeptoes.

The dress is great on Sonam and really accentuates her curves, but I wish she'd worn some interesting heels instead of the predictable peeptoes.

Kate Middleton In Alexander McQueen - Military Awards

Kate Middleton arrived at the Military Awards tonight, looking gorgeous in an Alexander McQueen gown.

The strapless, velvet gown with ruffle trim detail on the bodice had a very 80's feel to it.

She wore it with a signature, shiny blow-out, bold eyebrows and a stunning diamond necklace.

Best Dressed of the Year! Number 25: Kirsten Dunst

Since 2011 is coming to an end, I've put together a Best Dressed of the Year list with my personal 25 favorites. I'll reveal about two fashion icons a day (number 1 on New Year's, of course) and include some of the best outfits they've worn this year!

Why Kirsten Dunst is my 25th Best Dressed of the Year: There were a lot of celebrities figthing for the 25th spot, but I finally decided to give it to Dunst because I've come to love her feminine style this year. She's been saying that she's tried to dress in a more sophisticated way lately, and it really shows. I just love how she has the ability to look classy while still keeping her outfits fun and interesting.

Rooney Mara In Roksanda Ilincic - 'Today' Show Appearance

Rooney Mara wore a lovely Roksanda Ilincic Spring 2012 dress for an appearance on the 'Today' show in NYC.

The ivory coloured sleeveless dress has a crew-neck & a drop-waist ending with a fluted skirt.

This is Rooney's second appearance in a Roksanda Ilincic ensemble (click here) and I'm liking the partnership!

Florence Welch In Antonio Berardi - VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul Concert

The ethereal Florence Welch wore an Antonio Berardi Spring 2012 dress for the VH1 concert.

The floaty, pale pink dress had a high neck, metallic embroidery and an asymmetric hem.

Florence wore it with pointy nude pumps, but I would have preferred had she worn some bright shoes, like the ones from the runway.

VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul Concert

Lots of divas descended to the stage for VH1's concert celebrating soul.

Jennifer Hudson went for a 60's vibe in this micro-mini, paired with thigh-high boots and lots of jewellery.

Queen Latifah was typically red-carpet elegant in a one-shoulder gown by Georges Chakra.

Mary J. Blige wore a sparkly dress from the Michael Kors Fall 2011 gown - she looked great.
