Katharine McPhee in Dolce & Gabbana - NBC Upfront Presentation

Katharine McPhee was clad in a Dolce & Gabbana dress at the NBC Upfront Presentation for her show 'Smash'.

The full sleeved, baby pink dress with colourful floral appliques and a knee-length hemline looked very elegant without looking boring.  I love the colours.

She wore it with side-swept wavy tresses and gold, ankle-strap heels. This is the first time that a look of Katharine has appealed to me.

Katharine McPhee in Elie Saab - 2012 Met Ball

Katharine McPhee surprised me by wearing this vibrant, tangerine gown at this year's Met Ball.

Since she almost always wears neutrals, it was great to see her in this Elie Saab Spring 2012 gown with a plunging neckline and laden with sequins.

An updo made sure the dress got the attention it deserved and accessories included a gold bracelet and a bronze Christian Louboutin clutch.

Katharine McPhee in Michael Kors - Royal Oak 40 Years Exhibition

Katharine McPhee showed up at the Royal Oak 40 Years Exhibition in a Michael Kors sheath.

The sleeveless, turquoise dress looked wonderful on the 'Smash' star.

She completed her simple look with pink lips and nude slingbacks.

Katharine McPhee In Donna Karan - 'Smash' Premiere

Katharine McPhee, who stars in 'Smash' wore a Donna Karan Pre-Fall 2012 dress to the premiere.

I really like the elegance that this tri-colour dress with a white silk bodice, oversized bow and a long skirt exudes. 

Katherine kept with the lady-like theme of this dress by wearing her hair in a loose updo with curly face-framing bits, statement earrings, a diamond cuff, satin clutch & plain black heels.

2012 Golden Globes - Neutrals

Charlize Theron wore a Christian Dior Couture dress that had a plunging front & back, an oversized bow at the waist & thigh-high split.  She wore her hair in a soft, romantic style and sparkled in Cartier jewels.  Also, those white Givenchy sandals are killer.

Heidi Klum kept things very minimal this year, in this peachy  

Calvin Klein Collection number with a a plunging back which she paired with a statement turqouise neck piece by Lorraine Schwartz.  She kept her hair straight and went natural with her make-up.

Mary J. Blige wore a custom Michael Kors dress.  I like the sparkly top and the halter neck, but the feathered train is something I've never particularly liked.  She wore hair in an interesting updo, added geometric chandelier earrings & carried a Jimmy Choo purse.

'Bridesmaids' actress, Kristen Wiig wore a plunge neck Bill Blass dress.  Not loving this colour, I really wish she'd gone for a brighter hue, like a teal or even green as those would have have paired great with her dark locks.  She's wearing Fred Leighton jewelery & Nicholas Kirkwood heels.

Kate Beckinsale wore a custom Roberto Cavalli gown.  The corsetted, embroidered dress also had a flared hem.  The shape was stunning on Kate although I'm not keen on the pale colour.  She wore it with a high updo, Lorraine Schwartz earrings & stacked cuffs.

Amy Poehler attended the event in a Naeem Khan Spring 2012 dress.  The shimmery, beaded column dress had three-quarter sleeves.  Amy's hair was curled up in a classic do and she wore Van Cleef & Arpel baubles.

Katharine McPhee was the only celeb to shun the full-scale gown for a more contemporary cocktail dress made by Donna Karan.  It's a beautiful dress but just didn't stand ground when compared to all the above dresses.
