Miranda Kerr In Dolce & Gabbana - 2012 Instyle Golden Globes Party

Miranda Kerr scored another hit in a Dolce & Gabbana cocktail dress while attending the Instyle Golden Globes party with husband, Orlando Bloom.

The sparkly baby blue dress has a floral print and a corsetted bodice with straps.  The whole boobs-in-your-face would have been a problem but Miranda followed the boobs or legs rule and opted for a longer hemline.

She finished off the look by keeping her hair down in a center parting, carried a pink clutch and wore gorgeous sparkly T-bar sandals by Giuseppe Zannoti.

Felicity Jones In Valentino - Cinema For Peace event & 2012 Instyle Golden Globes Party

It was a Valentino weekend for Felicity Jones.

The actress wore a delicate Spring 2012 LWD for the Cinema for Peace event, benefiting J/P Haitian Relief Organization.  She added a black waist belt to break up the white tiers and match her Valentino 'Va Va Voom' clutch.  A braided updo & black heels completed her look.

At the Instyle Golden Globes party, she donned a mod white gown ballgown that had an intricate bodice with a snowy white skirt.  A simple updo, cocktail ring & a black box clutch completed her look.

Jessica Alba In Gucci - 2012 Instyle Golden Globes Party

Jessica Alba wore another Gucci dress, this time for the Instyle Golden Globes party.

The strapless, metallic pailette covered cocktail dress was simply stunning with her glowing tan.  I love the almost reptilian effect it has.

Jess wore it with a soft, messy side bun, chandelier earrings and blush satin Giuseppe Zannoti heels.

Emma Roberts In Zac Posen - 2012 Instyle Golden Globes Party

Emma Roberts went for a dramatic Zac Posen Fall 2011 gown for Instyle's annual post Golden Globes party in LA.

The navy blue and black coloured mermaid gown had a high neck with cutouts and an open back.   Emma wore it with a sweeping updo, diamonds and a white clutch.

It felt theatrical for an after party though, something comfortable yet glamorous would have done the job.  She could have worn a cocktail dress from the Spring 2012 collection.  This sky blue, off-shoulder dress would have been perfect (with the bright lip).

Cameron Diaz In Monique Lhuillier - 2012 Weinstein Company's Golden Globes Party

Cameron Diaz debuted a new hairstyle while attending the Weinstein Company's post Golden Globes bash in a Monique Lhuillier Pre-Fall 2012 dress.

The fitted cobalt blue & lace dress was just that, very fitted.  Unsightly creases formed because of the tight fit and the hair made things worse.  She probably wore the dress with simple, strappy heels though since Cameron isn't one to always go for pumps.

Jaime King In Valentino - 2012 Instyle Golden Globes Party

Actress Jaime King ('Hart of Dixie') wore yet another Valentino dress.  The pistachio coloured, velvet Fall 2011 gown features cap sleeves, and an open back.  

 Can't say the dress did Jaime any favours though.  For starters, it's hanging off her, the fabric's weird sheen washes her out and that hairstyle and make-up felt rather gimmicky.

Jenna Ushkowitz In Norman Ambrose - 2012 FOX Golden Globes After-Party

Jenna Ushkowitz attended the post-Golden Globes party thrown by the FOX network in a  very pretty, Norman Ambrose Spring 2012 dress.

The rose coloured, sequin adorned dress had two cross straps and a dazzling hem.  Jenna wore it with curly hair and silver jewels.

2012 Golden Globes - White

Angelina Jolie was my best dressed at this year's Golden Globes.  She returned to her best form in this strapless white Atelier Versace dress with pops of bright red.  No one even goes near!

Jessica Biel wore a Elie Saab 2011 Couture dress.  The very bridal looking lacey dress was a little too busy for my liking, and her slightly messy hair didn't help matters.  I wish she'd worn a bright dress from the Oscar de la Renta Spring 2012 collection.

 Jessica Chastain wore a  Givenchy Fall 2011 dress to the event - I'm totally digging this high neck, pure white dress with beading.  It looks beautiful with her hairstyle and those large pearl earrings.

Elle Macpherson was another celebrity to wear a Zac Posen gown.  The ivory coloured taffeta & tulle dress looked great on her, unsurprisingly.  She wore it with loose locks and Lorraine Schwartz baubles.

Paula Patton donned a canary yellow Monique Lhuillier dress.  The strapless ballgown was certainly cheery and bright and suited Paula's persona.  She wore it with Kwiat jewelery & Jimmy Choo heels.

Sarah Michelle Gellar also wore a Monique Lhuillier gown - this was the only printed dress at the event but again, it suited Sarah.

2012 Golden Globes - Purple/Pink

Jessica Alba wore a dress by Gucci.  The mauve coloured, strapless dress has silver embellishments and a train;  Jessica wore it with a bun, Bulgari jewels and a Roger Vivier bag.  That colour is divine against her tan.

Best Supporting Actress in a Movie (Drama) winner, Octavia Spencer radiated in a gorgeous lilac hued Tadashi Shoji dress.  As usual, the designer's dress is a winner for Octavia.  She carried a Judith Leiber clutch and wore Irene Neuwirth jewelery.

Tilda Swinton brought her swagger and personality on the red carpet in this Haider Ackermann ensemble.  The lavender colour is stunning and it's quite nice to see Tilda in such a feminine hue.  Her hair is just on another level.  Tilda is wearing Fred Leighton baubles.

Emma Stone stepped out in a Lanvin dress, but of course.  The gown basically consists of raspberry and plum coloured panels held together with a thick belt that has an eagle on it.  Emma was working it, with lashings of mascarra & eye-shadow, Lorraine Schwartz earrings & a Cartier clutch.

Natalie Portman was a vision in a hot pink Lanvin dress with touches of red.  She naturally, rocked the gown with a simple hairstyle & Harry Winston earrings and bracelets.

Julianna Margulies of 'The Good Wife' also wore a  
Naeem Khan Spring 2012 gown.  The shimmery purple gown sits in the category of backless gowns at the event.  Julianne wore it with a neat ponytail and jade earrings.

2012 Golden Globes - Grey

Ms. Lea Michele wore another Marchesa Spring 2012 dress. The dress has a sheer and embellished top with full sleeves and a shimmery skirt.  Lea is all drama, always but the hair & make-up are just OTT this time. 

Naya Rivera also went for a slate grey shade in this silk column gown.  Too bad it's very sloppily made, I mean it's puckering at the seams.  More polish and finishing was very much needed, then this backless gown would have been right up there.  Like the red lips though.

Nicole Kidman wore Versace! She nailed a red-carpet look after a long, long time.  The studded, pale grey Spring 2012 column gown is amazing on her, and she's smiling! She kept her hair down, wore pink lipstick, a gold bangle & clutch.

Shailene Woodley also went for a Marchesa Spring 2012 dress. The strapless, light grey, beaded gown has white gauze over it.  Shailene once more went accessory-less, just completing the look with a bun.

Nicole Richie walked the red carpet in a Julian Macdonald Spring 2012 dress. Nicole wore the silver, woven dress with a glamorous ponytail, tons of bling and a House of Harlow clutch.

2012 Golden Globes - Neutrals

Charlize Theron wore a Christian Dior Couture dress that had a plunging front & back, an oversized bow at the waist & thigh-high split.  She wore her hair in a soft, romantic style and sparkled in Cartier jewels.  Also, those white Givenchy sandals are killer.

Heidi Klum kept things very minimal this year, in this peachy  

Calvin Klein Collection number with a a plunging back which she paired with a statement turqouise neck piece by Lorraine Schwartz.  She kept her hair straight and went natural with her make-up.

Mary J. Blige wore a custom Michael Kors dress.  I like the sparkly top and the halter neck, but the feathered train is something I've never particularly liked.  She wore hair in an interesting updo, added geometric chandelier earrings & carried a Jimmy Choo purse.

'Bridesmaids' actress, Kristen Wiig wore a plunge neck Bill Blass dress.  Not loving this colour, I really wish she'd gone for a brighter hue, like a teal or even green as those would have have paired great with her dark locks.  She's wearing Fred Leighton jewelery & Nicholas Kirkwood heels.

Kate Beckinsale wore a custom Roberto Cavalli gown.  The corsetted, embroidered dress also had a flared hem.  The shape was stunning on Kate although I'm not keen on the pale colour.  She wore it with a high updo, Lorraine Schwartz earrings & stacked cuffs.

Amy Poehler attended the event in a Naeem Khan Spring 2012 dress.  The shimmery, beaded column dress had three-quarter sleeves.  Amy's hair was curled up in a classic do and she wore Van Cleef & Arpel baubles.

Katharine McPhee was the only celeb to shun the full-scale gown for a more contemporary cocktail dress made by Donna Karan.  It's a beautiful dress but just didn't stand ground when compared to all the above dresses.

2012 Golden Globes - Blue

Freida Pinto, who was a presenter at the awards, wore a custom creation by Prada.  The ballgown has such a princess-y feeling to it, and Freida looked very pretty in the colour.  She wore it with an ornate Chopard necklace and carried a Roger Vivier clutch.  Loving her hairstyle.

Berenice Bejo of 'The Artist' wore a sapphire hued strapless dress by Gucci premiere.  The shade is lovely on her and she wore it quite simply, with a low bun and dainty earrings.

Jenna Dewan Tatum wore a teal coloured with pleating from the  

Maria Lucia Hohan collection.  I like the colour but I'm not too fond of her choice of accessories & hairstyle.

Kelly Osbourne continues to parade her hair colour.  I'm sorry, but it's very difficult to get past it to see that she's wearing a pretty blue Zac Posen Pre-Fall 2012 gown that looks lovely on her.  She's wearing Vhernier jewels & carrying a Judith Leiber clutch.

Michelle Williams looked absolutely wonderful in a Jason Wu column gown with three-quarter sleeves.  Even the velvet isn't bothering me!  Michelle wore it with a black hairband by Fred Leighton and a Judith Leiber clutch.

Sofia Vergara wore a body hugging Vera Wang mermaid gown.  I love love love this shade on her and the way the texture of the flared hem looks like paint strokes.  Genius.
Sophia wore it with side parted, straight hair, pink lips & Harry Winston earrings.

2012 Golden Globes - Red

Dianna Agron went with a bold colour this year in this Giles Deacon dress.  The laser-cut swans on the bodice are reminiscent of the Givenchy Spring 2011 dresses but Di wore the dress so well and I love that she wore matching lipstick.

Viola Davis wore a wine coloured Emilio Pucci dress.  Red and all its shades look lovely on the actress and this was no exception.  Viola even added a little sexiness via the leg split!  She finished the look off with Fred Leighton jewelery, a Judith Leiber clutch & Jimmy Choo sandals.

'Glee' actress Amber Riley wore a strapless red gown by Badgley Mischka.  The vibrant shade is great on Amber and the slight draping makes her appear statuesque.

 Reese Witherspoon looked radiant in Zac Posen dress.  It's a signature Posen gown, with the impeccable fit, rich colour and the mermaid hem.  Reese wore it with a relaxed hairstyle & Fred Leighton jewels.

Tina Fey wore a deep red hued Oscar de la Renta gown.  The strapless tulle dress is lovely but I wish Tina had done something different with her hair.

2012 Golden Globes - Black

Rooney Mara wore black, as was expected.  The Best Actress (Drama) nominee wore a Nina Ricci Pre-Fall 2012 gown.  The plunge-neck tulle bodice & long column skirt were simple yet perfect for the scale of the event.  Rooney chose to sweep back her bangs and wore very less make-up.

Debra Messing wore a taffeta, one-shoulder dress by Monique Lhuillier, choosing to add colour via her fabulous Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Kate Winslet went for colour block in a gorgeous, silk dress by Jenny Packham.  The key-hole top & white skirt were punched up with a gold embellished waist belt.   Kate wore her hair in an updo and added gold earrings by Fred Leighton & carried an embellished clutch.

Julianne Moore left behind her crazy dress sense and opted instead, for this strapless, Chanel gown that has a peplum silhouette (tad unnecessary).  She wore her hair in shiny waves and added green tasseled earrings (an emerging trend & gorgeous with her hair colour).

Mila Kunis, who's the new face of Miss Dior, wore a classic gown from the Christian Dior Spring 2012 collection.  Compared to her efforts last year, this felt a little bland.  But then she was only presenting so it's fair.  She put her hair in a sleek bun and wore Cartier jewels.

Salma Hayek looked beautiful in a Gucci Premiere gown.  The strapless dress had a bedazzled bodice and a shimmery pleated skirt.  Salma kept her hair down, in tousled waves,  wore a neutral lip colour, gold statement earrings and carried a mini satin clutch.

Zooey Deschanel was a pleasant surprise in a custom Prada dress.  The 'New Girl' actress, who was nominated in the Best Actress in a TV Series (Comedy) was delightful in the unusual black satin dress that had lime green and silver beading.  A glossy, retro hairstyle and pink lips completed her look.

Claire Danes wore a custom J. Mendel Pre-Fall 2012 gown which according to the Best Actress in a TV Series award winning actress, was "all about the back".  And rightly so, the backless monochromatic gown was bang on trend with all that embellishment.  Claire went with a messy bun (which we rarely see on her) and red lips which were nice changes.

Meryl Streep, who won the Best Actress (Drama) award for 'Iron Lady' wore a black shirt dress with lace & a taffeta skirt - all by Alessandra Rich.  She looks elegant.  And can do no wrong.
