Rihanna in Adam Selman - 'Battleship' LA Premiere

Rihanna wore a white dress to the 'Battleship' LA premiere.

The Adam Selman dress had a plunging neckline and a thigh-high leg split.  I get the whole minimal yet sensual concept Rihanna was aiming for, but the result of this was just a little tacky.

The way that it's clinging on to her is off-putting so this doesn't work for me, even if I like her choice of Manolo Blahnik sandals.

Rihanna in Tom Ford - 2012 Met Ball

Rihanna continues her 'minimalist' streak.

She attended the Met Gala wearing a reptilian-textured Tom Ford Fall 2012 column gown that also featured a low back,  high neck and full sleeves.

I thought she looked stunning in this simple dress, which was worn with a relatively simple hairstyle (by Rihanna standards) and neutral make-up.

Rihanna in Stella McCartney - 2012 Time 100 Gala Performance

Rihanna performed at this year's Time 100 gala.

She took to the stage in a Stella McCartney Pre-Fall 2012 ensemble.

The look consisted of a gold strapless top with an oversized red bow on the bodice, and silvrecropped pants.  It was sweet and simple - very appropriate for the event.

Rihanna in Marchesa - 2012 Time 100 Gala

Rihanna ditched her daring fashion sensibility at this year's Time 100 Gala.

The singer wore a sweet pink Marchesa Resort 2012 dress.  The strapless silk dress had a draped bodice and a flared skirt looked lovely on her.

Newly jet black hair was worn in waves, and the red lipstick added another colour to her look with Christian Louboutin pumps completing the look.

Rihanna in Stella McCartney - 'Battleship' Sydney Premiere

Rihanna is ruling the minimalist realm right now.

She wore a Stella McCartney Pre-Fall 2012 jumpsuit for the Australian premiere of 'Battleship' today.

Instead of wearing it with a white button-down, she opted to wear it on its own which gave it more glamorous feel.

She left the look uncluttered, simply wearing her hair in a high bun with a sweeping fringe and keeping her make-up fresh.  Simple Manolo Blahnik sandals were the finishing touch to her cool look.

Rihanna in Emilio Pucci - 'Battleship' Tokyo Premiere

Rihanna sported the pajama trend at the Japanese premiere of the movie 'Battleship'.

She wore an Emilio Pucci Fall 2012 outfit; the rich blue colour and gold, floral design is what makes this ensemble evening-wear worthy.

Rihanna picked up that gold element with her choice of jewelery and the fact that her hair is not blonde anymore makes me happy.

Rihanna in Stella McCartney - Street Style in London

Rihanna has been spotted around London sporting two very different Stella McCartney looks.

She wore a matching set of blouse & pants from the designer's Pre-Fall 2012 collection with simple black sandals; I like how she incorporated gold bangles to add some warmth to the look.

On another occasion, Rihanna donned a colourful, marble-print jacket-dress with black lapels and a plunging neckline from the Evening 2012 line; I wish she'd put on some cropped pants underneath to make this look feel cohesive.

Rihanna in Alexander Wang - 'Battleship' London Photocall

Rihanna joined Brooklyn Decker for their movie's photocall.

Rihanna donned an olive green Alexander Wang Pre-Fall 2012 dress with a draped skirt.

While it looks lovely against her skin tone, I wish she had chosen something fresher from the Spring/Summer collection.

A blowout and Christian Louboutin 'Pigalle' pumps finished off her look.

Rihanna In Givenchy - 2012 BRIT Awards

Rihanna wore a Givenchy Spring 2012 Couture gown for the 2012 BRIT Awards, held in London last night.

Rihanna looked spectacular in this embellished halter gown.  The colour is unique, and looks amazing with her olive skin tone.

She completed the look with a neat, swept up hair do and ankle-strap sandals. I am so very glad she wore the leather gloves - they work perfectly for her and the event.

Stella McCartney Special Presentation - London Fashion Week

Rihanna glammed up in a teal coloured, very risky silk gown for a special presentation by Stella McCartney during London Fashion Week.  The styling - gold collar, bangles etc. - is similar to her Grammys look (click here), but who's complaining when she looks this great, right?

Alexa Chung also attended the event, in a strapless black silk ballgown by Stella McCartney. Alexa doesn't usually do gowns so this was a good change but the fact that she went completely accessory-less irks me.

Rihanna In Giorgio Armani - 2012 Grammys

Rihanna left little to the imagination in a custom Giorgio Armani dress at the Grammys.

The black dress plunged and dropped from the front & the back and had a leg split.

Ri-Ri wore it with delicious gold accessories but her blonde hair is just off-putting no?  Although I guess no one is really paying attention to it.

Fashion Roundup

Jessica Alba was seen doing the striped sweater-animal print scarf look in LA.  She wore a beanie, shades, black boots & carried a gorgeous green Rebecca Minkoff purse.

Ashley Greene landed in LA looking ultra chic in a tan cardi, worn over a white tee, a Chanel chain necklace and skinny jeans.  She carried a beautiful Mulberry bag & wore nude pumps.

Minka Kelly dined out in LA wearing a light grey pleated maxidress with gold accessories.

Rihanna was spotted around LA in a cute casual getup.  Love the colour block sweater which she wore with loose jeans, bandanas and white pumps.

Rihanna & Sofia Vergara - New Year's Style

Rihanna went demure at a New Year's Eve party in a lace Tom Ford dress.
The full sleeves and modest hemline were balanced by a key-hole neckline.  An updo, red lips & pointy black heels completed the look.

Sofia Vergara wore a hot white Blumarine dress at a party, with nude peeptoes & a straight, centre-parted hairstyle.

Fashion Roundup

Starting off the fashion roundup this week with lace!

Sarah Jessica Parker was seen at an event in Shanghai, China, in this fabulous white Elie Saab dress with a matching jacket. The white shoes in her case totally work.

Emma Stone once again played around with designers, in this green Dolce & Gabbana sheath, adding interest with her animal-print Brian Atwoods and red lips.

Charlize Theron made an appearance at Comic Con in San Diego, wearing a chic casual outfit consisting of a sparkly top, topped with a white blazer and skinny jeans.

Jessica Alba is at it again, rocking pregnancy chic that is. She looked radiant in a Dolce & Gabbana maxi dress, worn with smokey eyes!

Camilla Belle made a simple Dolce & Gabbana LBD pop in Spain with those eye-catching heels (Aperlai?)

Ashley Tisdale celebrated her birthday (once again) in Vegas in a cream coloured mini, toughening it up with black ankle boots. I really hate the idea of chunky boots in the summer so this is a thumbs down.

Hilary Duff was spotted shopping in LA in the popular embellished Isabel Marant jacket. She wore hers with red earrings, Ray Bans, black skinnies, and black pumps. It's a nice look but lacks that effortless chic touch.

Rihanna stepped out in NYC this week sans bottoms. She paired the shirt-dress with Prada shoes; it's a bold choice... but then, it's Rihanna.

Whitney Port was seen in Miami wearing this halter-neck, floral patched Rebecca Taylor maxi with stacked bangles. I really am not not a fan of this dress.

Lauren Conrad was seen at an event in a very dull outfit. Lauren Conrad always looks nice, but there's no personality from her on the red carpet and her outfits lack interest too, case in point: this Rebecca Minkoff mini with nude peeptoes.

Billboard Music Awards 2011

The Billboard Music Awards took place in Las Vegas last night. Here are some of the looks from the night!

Rihanna (blended into the background here) wore a white Max Azria suit, with pointy nude shoes. It's a bold look and Ri-Ri is rocking it like always!

Selena Gomez tried the grown up look in a
dress with a cut-out and slit by Dolce & Gabbana. She kept the hair poker straight, adding colour via accessories and shoes. Is it me or does she almost look a Kardashian at first glance?

Taylor Swift wore a bedazzled strapless Elie Saab gown. I know this look is very Taylor but I like the minimal look going on, no frills, unecessary bling or big hair.

Nicole Kidman wore a very boring black column dress, the only interesting aspect of the look is the hairstyle.

Beyonce wore a simple black Lanvin sheath, saving all the drama for her performance of her new single,"Run the World".

At The Met Ball!

*Click on the images for a clearer look.

Zoe Saldana stayed true to Calvin Klein in this refreshing citrus sha
ded column gown. It's colourful, and lively and the statement gold necklace looks perfect with it.

Claire Danes also wore Calvin Klein, in the form of this metallic gown with a v-neck. It's minimal but I wish she'd worn something to add a bit of interest to this look.

Gwyneth Paltrow wore her usual red-carpet uniform of a neutral, no-fuss dress. This time it's by Stella McCartney. I wish she would play around with other colours and get out of this nude dress obssession!

A pregnant and glowing Kate Hudson also wore Stella McCartney. The champagne silk gown has richness but the fitting hasn't been done well to accommodate her body and the headband seems like an afterthought.

Jessica Alba looked wonderful in a golden Ralph Lauren gown. She looks beautiful! Flawless.

Kristen Bell's lame Tory Burch gown was a little boring, it didn't have much going on and felt too simple for the occassion.

Christina Ricci's Zac Posen gown had drama, and lots of it! This is a love/hate look and unfortunately, I fall on the hate side.

Chloe Sevigny also disappointed in an ill-fitted Alexander McQueen dress. It does nothing in terms of colour, style or design.
Maggie Gyllenhaal also wore Stella McCartney; I loved this glitzy midnight blue number on her.

Rihanna also wore Stella McCartney, but the hair killed this look for me!

Fashion Roundup

Gossip Girl co-stars Kelly Rutherford and Blake Lively were seen at the Van Cleef & Arpels opening gala in NYC.

Kelly wore an elegant silk (YSL?) dress in navy with some gorgeous jewels.

Blake wore a fringed, beaded dress by Marchesa with pale Louboutins - needless to say, LOVE.

The always ethereal looking Cate Blanchett also made an appearance at the Van Cleef & Arpels gala in a structured, regal looking black Balenciaga gown.

Emma Watson wore a navy Chanel number at a Bafta party - I think the dress is a little unflattering and I'm not a fan of the buttons.

Olivia Munn was at a NYFW party in a floral dress which she topped with a sharp black jacket - I like how the low neckline of the dress balances with the otherwise covered up look.

Alexa Chung wore a Yves Saint Laurent ensemble, she does look good in it though I'm not a fan of the dress personally.

Isla Fisher wore a strapless aqua Temperely London dress at the "Rango" premiere - it's way to eighties and too teeny-bopper. Isla, wear something your age! Those shoes are unflattering too.

Rihanna wore a Jean Paul Gautier again, the bright colours are too jarring for me so this one gets a thumbs down.

Jessica Alba wore a Prada dress with a black cardi - it's a relaxed and normal looking ensemble.

Cheryl Cole wore a traffic light red Alexander McQueen gown that fit her well, Cheryl always looks good in red.

Kate Bosworth wore a tangerine shift, in the form of Calvin Klein, at the Calvin Klein show. It's screams Calvin Klein and I like Calvin Klein and minimalism.

Rumer Willis was at the Badgley Mischka show wearing this pale green dress with bright red heels - the dress has no shape and hangs of her, and the shoes don't work with it.

Emma Roberts was seen at two events at NYFW, both times in Michael Kors. I love the pleated blue dress and the even though the second one isn't exactly ground-breaking, she still looks good! Emma's becoming quite the style starlet.

Diane Kruger wore a flutter-sleeve Prada dress in a gorgeous colour with teal Prada platforms at an "Unknown" event, while January Jones was seen in a lime-green number that's a lot better than her previous outing.

The Grammys - Warm Tones

Rihanna wore a Jean Paul Gaultier gown. It was everything Rihanna! Risky, and out there. I'm not a fan but at least she's kept the hair and makeup relatively simple.

Florence Welch wore one of my favourite
designs from Givenchy's S/S 11 collection! I adore the swan print, the random sheer fabric and the colours!

Sara Bareilles wore a red gown by a designer called Ghadah Paris - I think she looks good, with the retro hair and chunky bangles.

Nicole Ki
dman looked so good! I like her floral Jean Paul Gaultier gown, the floral bits on the hem I would have lived without but overall, she looks lovely.

More New Year's Style

So, even more celebs spotted at various events on the west coast. Do Taraji P. Henson & Olivia Munn share secretaries? I say this, because the two were present at the same event in Las Vegas last night! Henson looked cute in an emerald-green frock with gold accessories... although, can't help but feel that the hemline could have been taken lower, nearby the knees perhaps? Olivia Munn looked classy in a lacy black knee-length dress with purple heels. The two are wearing the same shoes too (YSL Tributes)... yikes.

Rihanna looked, um, red at an event. Not a fan of this dress or its awkward length, surely she could have taken out something a bit more fabulous out of her closet?! Jenna Dewan wore a fire-engine red mini with gold accessories, not ground-breaking but at least she made an effort! Rashida Jones (rumoured to be dating Garrett Hedlund) stepped out in a sparkly LBD which she wore with some funky heels! I like both, just not together. Also, wasn't too crazy about her make-up.

Pretty in Polka

It's not easy to pull off a colourful polka-dot jumpsuit. However, Rihanna totally worked this Dolce & Gabbana number! The hair's a bit of an issue but let's ignore that. I loved the way she made the all-in-one the centre of attention by keeping the accessories to the minimum and wearing plain black pumps. Fabulous.
