Kate Hudson in Jenny Packham - 2012 White House Correspondants' Dinner

Kate Hudson wore a Jenny Packham gown to this year's White House Correspondants' Dinner in Washington D.C.

She looked stunning in the sequined purple column gown with a boat neckline and embellished cuffs.

Kate doesn't attend many glitzy events but when she does, she always leaves her mark.  I love everything about her look, from the high bun to the make-up, jewelery and clutch.

Reese Witherspoon in Monique Lhuillier - 2012 White House Correspondants' Dinner

Reese Witherspoon wore a Monique Lhuillier gown to the 2012 White House Correspondants' Dinner.

The pregnant actress looked absolutely stunning in the black dress with a strappy neckline.

A retro hairstyle, fresh make-up and gorgeous earrings completed her look.

Charlize Theron in Emilio Pucci - 2012 White House Correspondants' Dinner

At the 2012 White House Correspondants' Dinner, Charlize Theron brought her elegance in an Emilio Pucci Pre-Fall 2012 gown.

She looked poised and beautiful as always in this full sleeved lace gown with a back cut-out.  However, I wish she had worn the belt that can be seen on the model, just to break up the pattern.

Elizabeth Banks in Antonio Berardi - 2012 White House Correspondants' Dinner

Elizabeth Banks brought colour to the 2012 White House Correspondants' Dinner.

She wore an Antonio Berardi Fall 2012 gown.  The vibrant red dress with an architectural peplum waist was simple yet made an impact.

She wore it with matching jewels and an updo.

Zooey Deschanel in Oscar de la Renta - 2012 White House Correspondants Dinner

Zooey Deschanel attended the 2012 White House Correspondants Dinner in an Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2012 ballgown.

I liked the unusual grey shade of the sequined dress but it was sitting too low on her and hence formed a puddle in the bottom.

The hair and red lips were spot on, as always though.

Claire Danes in Vivienne Westwood - 2012 White House Correspondants Dinner

Claire Danes attended the White House Correspondants Dinner in an unexpected label.

She wore a Vivienne Westwood dress.  I was somewhat disappointed to see her in such a sloppy dress as we're used to seeing Claire look polished and immaculate always.  There isn't a single aspect of her look that I liked.

Dakota Fanning in Prada - 2012 White House Correspondants Dinner

Dakota Fanning attended the White House Correspondants Dinner in Washington D.C.

Dakota didn't change it up at this event - she still stuck to the straight hair, pastel gown theme but I loved her embellished Prada gown.

Rashida Jones in Tory Burch - 2012 White House Correspondants Dinner

Rashida Jones wore a Tory Burch Fall 2012 dress to the 2012 White House Correspondants Dinner.

Rashida always wears colourful gowns on the red carpet - something that I love!  She looked good in this printed gown with a peplum.

Kerry Washington in Calvin Klein - 2012 White House Correspondants Dinner

Kerry Washington attended the 2012 White House Correspondants Dinner in a Calvin Klein gown.

Kerry worked her tried and tested minimalism mantra in this peach Calvin Klein gown with full sleeves.  I loved her high ponytail.

Eva Longoria in Marchesa - 2012 White House Correspondants Dinner

Eva Longoria wore a Marchesa Fall 2012 dress to the 2012 White House Correspondants Dinner.

Eva has been a Marchesa loyalist for many years so it wasn't a surprise to see her in a dress from a fresh collection.  She looked good in the high neck dress with an embellished bodice and a drop-waist.

Those black pumps felt clunky; this dress would have looked nicer with sleek, dainty sandals.

Sofia Vergara in David Meister - 2012 White House Correspondants Dinner

Funny lady Sofia Vergara attended this year's White House Correspondants Dinner in Washington.

The 'Modern Family' actress changed it up in a David Meister dress.  It was definitely refreshing to see her in something that wasn't body-hugging or a gown.

I thought she looked lovely in the strapless LBD with a jewelled waistband.

Anna Paquin in Herve Leroux - 2012 White House Correspondants Dinner

Anna Paquin attended the 2012 White House Correspondants Dinner.

The pregnant 'True Blood' star wore a black jersey Herve Leroux dress with cut outs in the back; it was an elegant look despite those cut outs.

Viola Davis in Amsale - 2012 White House Correspondants Dinner

Viola Davis wore a dress by Amsale for the 2012 White House Correspondants Dinner.

I like the burnt orange shade on her and the dress itself too - there's nothing to hate!

Rosario Dawson in Armani Privé - 2012 White House Correspondants Dinner

Rosario Dawson attended the 2012 White House Correspondants Dinner last night.

She wore an iridescent Armani Privé gown in a teal colour.  She lookes great - the hair and make-up are spot on but there's too much cleavage on show.

Ginnifer Goodwin in H&M - 2012 White House Correspondents' Dinner

Ginnifer Goodwin supported the high-street at the 2012 White House Correspondents' Dinner.

She wore an H&M gown that had a white bodice, a black waistband and a very ruffled skirt. While I didn't mind the dress itself, the unfinished ruffles near the hem looked bad.

I did love her make-up, though.  Especially the eyes.

2011 White House Correspondants' Dinner

Spotted: A whole lot of actors and actresses looking their glamorous best at the White House Correspondants' Dinner, in DC on Saturday night.

Salma Hayek wore a strapless, beaded black column gown with an ornate necklace and a bouffant. As nice as the gown is, it's not very well fitted! Needs to be hitched up a notch.

Scarlett Johansson rebelled against the conventional floor-skimming gown style in a pale blue cocktail dress by Elie Saab. Despite it not being a gown, the dress is elegant and Scarlett looked great!

Mila Kunis worked that Versace gown! The actress looked smokin' in the structured number, complete with gold button detail. I also like the fierce hair and make up.

Rashida Jones brought a bolt of blue, in this strapless silk gown which she wore with dangly enamel earrings. I'm not a fan of those nude ankle strap heels, they seem too fussy; a simpler peeptoe would have fared better.

Nina Dobrev, in an ivory silk Dolce & Gabbana dress looked divine! I love the soft hairstyle and make up and that Chopard diamond necklace looks beautiful.

Her boyfriend Ian Somerhalder looked so handsome in the black suit!

Brooklyn Decker surprised me by going natural with her make up! The model turned actress wore a red Giambattista Valli gown with an interesting bodice. I like.
