Style report: Jane Quimby, Jane by Design

Jane by Design is a show that you need to watch; not only is it good (and super addictive with all the love triangles) but the fashion inspiration it provides is never-ending. Whenever there's a fashion emergency Jane Quimby (portrayed by Erica Dasher) just gets behind her sewing machine and whips something up. And personally, I couldn't sew if my life depended on it, but Jane makes it look so easy and cool that I almost feel like learning. Everything she makes and wears is so fun and original! Fluffy skirts, color coordinated outfits (but not to an annoying extent), lots of color blocking (but again, not to an annoying extent) and crazy statement-making accessories. In short, if you want to dress like Jane Quimby: be bold and fearless!

Statement-Making Clothes

Aaaaand it's time for another 'statement' post...

1. Giambattista Valli Animal Print Jacket
2. Gryphon New York Silver Biker Jacket
3. Monclear Audrey Wool Coat
4. Stella McCartney Pleated Rose Blouse
5. Matthew Williamson Cropped Rabbit Jacket
6. Michael Kors Cashmere Slashed Sweater
7. Lanvin Shorts
8. Victoria Beckham Satin-Crepe Bell Dress
9. CH Carolina Herrera Fox Fur Jacket

I love number 2 and 7 - the gold/silver/glitter/disco trend has been missing from my life my whole life so I'm glad it's finally here. It's so fun and sparkly!

And the Matthew Williamson jacket (number 5) is just: wow! Need. It. Now.

About number 6... I'm not crazy about this particular sweater (the color and the design are a little boring), but I love the hole-in-the-shoulder trend. I have been unable to find a shirt like this and that just makes me love the trend even more because then it somehow seems so 'exclusive'. I'm gonna keep looking though. I really want one of those sweaters; how difficult can it be to find one? Plan B will just be to cut the shoulders out of some old sweater...

And aaah, number 1 and 9... I'm just really into animal prints and fur right now.
